I’m in love with the HEEEEL-wani era best part of this episode for me is Ariel going off on Brendan and Joe and I’m actually a fan of all parties but I gotta side with my by boy Helwani here
Almost spit my drink out hearing Ariel swear. Love it.
Ariel is literally running MMA since he’s gone independent. He really showed his how much his true potential was hidden whilst at ESPN. He’s made more noise in a week being independent than he has a full year at ESPN and that’s just facts. He runs the MMA hour, interviewing tonnes of fighters, interviewing entertainment figures such as WWE Stars and Jeremy Piven, then was commentating and interviewing at a Showtime event. If the big wigs at ESPN wanted him to fail so badly they should of kept him, if they kept him he’d be still doing a fraction of what he’s capable of and not revealing his full potential, whoever was pushing to get him out played the wrong move. Since he’s gone independent he’s stole ESPNs viewers, is making 20 times more of a splash and its branching out everywhere. Bad move on their parts. What a checkmate. Always bet on yourself. We’re tuning in for the special connection Ariel has with the fighters, how comfortable they are to open up to him, how they trust him, how he’s genuinely curious about everything, and how he always asks the questions we want to hear.

Chito is a hidden gem. Hope he wins all his fights. Aljo.....man tough to like him but this rematch should correct the BW division again with Petr as the champ. Gotta see him and TJ fight some day.

Idk man he doesn’t seem to have the gas tank or power. Personally if you ask me, he’s going to run into a real threat and lose real soon.
It’s so obvious how terrified Aljo is of the rematch, he knows he’s gonna lose. 9/10 fighters would do the rematch right away and him trying to justify any reason to avoid the fight is just sad.

Aljo sticking with being impossible to like. He’s a bad actor and he won’t defend the belt once. That’s the reality. Also, he’s whining about how he should be able to get surgery and take off until December after winning from a disqualification, but Francis gets shelved for an interim belt after a few months?! Ariel didn’t have the balls to call Aljo out for saying he was not losing that fight and for bringing up his meal. Only going to make him look worse when he loses.

How can you not like Ricky, not the TUF winner we deserved or even necessarily wanted..... but the TUF winner we needed
I do believe Aljamain is the champ, but the food scheduling thing aiding to his loss is almost as bad as Paulo Costa's winegate excuse. Like ok you didn't space your meals well due to a different fight time, but that's still your mistake, not something that was outside of your control like a torn ligament or a medical condition...

Yeah, but he never tried to excuse himself. He's explaining what the day was like because of COVID. The food story is not that unheard of in the UFC. Fighters pretty much wait in a huddle until they are called into a fight. You see it all the time on Embedded, how the UFC feeds each fighter. So, he story sounds pretty much.....like the truth.

Ariel, here is the US, "On the Nose" is figurative for: Precisely accurate; exactly right. Example: "Her predictions about the company's collapse were right on the nose". I don't think your subscriber intended to use it in place of 'on the record' :-) Therefore, it would be a great name because you are usually on the nose with your thoughts and feeling about the fighters and the sport
