  • @auginater4200

You guys gotta watch the interview of Jamahal's on the show after he won the belt. Ariel was blatantly disregarding his accomplishment asking several questions commenting ways that Jamahal was the recipient of a title shot only because Jiri vacated. Like he just kept up with that angle. There was no grand introduction, and many "subtle" jabs. Plus Jamahal goes on in the end of this video to say he acknowledges Jiri hasnt the best English and that Ariel manipulated his understanding, but Jiri went along with it a good deal which I can understand being upsetting. I'm a big fan of Ariel but you don't watch his show if you don't believe he antagonizes conflicts a lot. Watch the interview mentioned with Ariel and Rampage earlier this week. Same disrespect

My opinion is that Ariel has gone to a very pro wrestling kind of interview/show style, especially as of late. He's always had hints of it, dating back to the Diaz's, Rampage, etc. It seems to me he more interested in injecting himself as a personality into the game. Where he does these sly, subliminal shade throwing statements, as he did in this video and then proceeds to invite said person onto his show to hash things out. He know what he's doing at this point, it's very smart on his part. Personally not for me. He's not always in the wrong, but in this case he is.

Ariel basically manipulated Jiri in this interview, tried to manipulate Jamahal in their interview, especially regarding the Dana White stuff, put words in his mouth when that failed and now in his response to Jamahal he’s basically saying he would’ve 10-7d him and taking jabs saying Jamahal is basically doing this for views. Although you didn't let Jamahal's video end appropriately (because he did readjust his demeanor to make sure to defuse any assumptions of threat or physical confrontation. I give you respect! I thought for sure you were going to take the "greaseball" route, And I was originally sorry about that initial reaction until you started comparing Jamahal's reaction to the Colby/ Jon Anik situation. Which warranted some criticism. But I feel you deserve more praise than haze on this one!

Have you considered being an arbitrator for the proposed hash out? I think your breakdown proves that you can be objective, and therefore trusted to fairly listen and speak on both sides, as you’ve done in this video. Also, given the high tension nature of the confrontation, both parties may need your clarity and level headedness.

Something changed .... Ariel has been MMA journalist of the year how many times? But in the last 18 month, there's been a change in how he interviews fighters. His standards have dropped. His honesty has faltered. He's been more manipulative, more of a shit-stirrer, more egotistical. Its been visible since his Schaub beef, his Dillon Danis drama, then his biased interviews of Jared Gordon, Jamahal Hill Dricus DuPlessis. I hope that there is someone who can ask him, "Ariel, are you OK?" Because the nastiness seems to be growing, and at some point his viewers will turn off, and turn to non-journalist MMA commentators instead. It's a shame to see someone who has been excellent start to lose their edge. As a boxing fan , I remember when it happened with Larry Merchant - but Ariel is 30 or 40 years younger.

This is nothing new with Ariel. He has been instigating different scenarios for years. I will say that he never runs from a confrontation (he will try to walk back things when confronted which is annoying) but at least he will go there. Jiri was talking in general but Hill has a tendency to get worked up easily. I have my thoughts on why but I'm not trying to type a thesis here.

Sorry James but I disagree with you on that last statement. It's one thing if you bullshit about something and then not own up to it once. But if you do it multiple times you deserve to get called out on it. Ariel gets away with this all the time. There are too many guys like him that just get away with manipulation by playing the victim. And more people need to call him out on this.

as a person who has had many mental health battles and dealt with my own issues before going to work as a support worker for adult addicts with mental health disabilities/diseases, it is very clear and obvious that Ariel is a narcissist and his responses and actions are just complete textbook narcissism 101. It's really obvious if you know what you're looking for. The red flags don't appear as clearly because he's a journaist on a youtube show but isolate and review the patterns of behaviour over a prolonged period of time and you get to see just how pervasive and cyclical this sort of behaviour is. It literally is the same toxic mechanisms of thought that hardcore drug addicts use to help maintain a habit.
