About 10 years ago, I went on a trip to Lourdes. I have never been to a more peaceful place in all my life. I was submerged in the water, prayed many Rosaries and did a lot of meditating. I am not at all claiming a miracle, but the visit did change me in subtle ways, good ways. After Vietnam, I really needed that. We also went to Fatima. I was really disappointed in that place. Too much asphalt and modern architecture. Go to Lourdes.

The first Marian shrine that I visited was Lourdes which was so peaceful & inspiring & I’d recommend to all, Catholic or otherwise. Participate in the candlelit procession & visit the baths. Visit the museum of miracles with the amazing stories. Lourdes has the charism of healing. Fatima has the charism of penance & is best visited on the 12/13th of any of the months from May to Oct when vast pilgrimage crowds visit. The candlelit procession is inspirational

Praise Jesus for giving us the Blessed Virgin Mary our loving mother. JMJ pray for the Church in these times of trial.

Back when I was a protestant, I remember people tentatively suggesting that maybe miracles still happen, in liminal areas like tiny African villages.

@@pdub69triniboy Queen of heaven is mentioned twice in scripture, both times as an idol, and Mary would be ashamed of you elevating her to a position she Never claimed. Everything about Mary the mother of Jesus ends in Acts 1:16 and everything you have learned about Mary that is not found in the bible is man made with no basis in scripture!! Heb 12:2 tells us who we are to focus on . The whole new testament is about the son of Mary not about Mary .

Thank you for this. Much needed in light of the all the garbage going on in the Church hierarchy these days...

Lourdes is like a pre-taste of heaven.... The peace, the sense of home whenever we find ourselves on the grounds.... It is unbelievable. Been there 7-8 times so far, God grant me another 700 more at least please 🙂

John Traynor was an invalid from Liverpool. Some in Liverpool converted to Catholicism because of his cure at Lourdes. You can google the story; it is tremendously interesting.

Please change the person portraying the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady should be depicted as pure and naturally beautiful as possible, not someone with a gallon of makeup on and crazy hair.
