The Minnesota Twins Just Did EXACTLY What The MLB Feared...
Спорт
The Minnesota Twins are on another level right now. The entire MLB was counting out the Minnesota Twins before the MLB playoffs even started, and clearly they were wrong to do so. The Minnesota Twins may have been in the worst divsion in baseball, but they also were one of the hottest teams in the MLB walking into the postseason, and proved to everyone why based on their performance in the WildCard series. These Minnesota Twins in my opinion truly has what it takes to go all the way, and we need to start taking them very seriously...

As a Twins fan, thank you for this video. One reason our record wasn't better is because for the 1st half of the season we were giving way too many at bats (and strikeouts) to Byron Buxton and Joey Gallo. In the 2nd half of the season they let the kids play (Royce, Julien, and Wallner). It was like 2 completely different teams.

As a Yankee fan, watching Gallo strikeout 7 every 10 at bats, hitting that 1 home run and hitting .194 was a nightmare. I can clearly see how replacing him with basically anyone would improve the Twins. Same with Sanchez the catcher...

Subbed! Braves fan here and I've been saying since the middle of the season to watch out for the Orioles, but the Twins have been crushing it lately and I think they've got a shot for the WS if they keep it up. I'm definitely pulling for the Twins against the Astros! 😂
I had no idea Royce Lewis put up those numbers in only 58 games, 52 RBI in only 58 games, how did that not get more attention. Baseball does that though they seem to overly promote the same players/same teams while somewhat ignoring others I was surprised to see he put up numbers like that playing in only 1/3 of the season's games that should have been a much bigger story around the league
Where the heck did Royce Lewis come from? The dude was the number 1 over all pick in 2019 and has been one of the top prospects in all of baseball since then….where have you been?

As an Astros fan, I can say that the twins cannot be taken lightly. It’s going to be a tough series. May the best team win.
My heart belongs to Minnesota
As a Twins fan, they didn't embarrass the Blue Jays, it was two 2 run games not blowouts, Blue Jays had a chance in both games to break hearts at the end of each game.
Lewis and his 4 grand slams in limited action speaks volumes. This feat put him above Puckett, Killebrew, Hrbek, and Tori Hunter, setting a club mark- not a bad accomplishment for 52 games. That record alone should tell you about where he’s headed if he stays healthy. As for the Twins, they were fortunate they were in the Central division as it allowed time to gel without falling behind. Once the starting pitching took off - with a true #1 and # 2 Lopez and Gray, and depth - Ryan, Meada, Ober things fell into place. Late in the season Stewart and Paddock came off of IR from St.Paul adding more arms to the mix with Jax, Pagan, Thielbar, and Duran. I agree, they are now dangerous as they have just enough pop and solid players spotted throughout the lineup. The Astros, still the favorites are a tough punch out and will be difficult to dethrone but there is a chance. Fun series…
ASTROS FAN... This video makes me a little more excited to watch today's game! Sounds like the Twins have something to prove. Well let's get ready to RUMBLE!!! May the best team win!

@hunterfranke4833 so glad you guys made it. Correa definitively made an impact. Actually I was nervous about our games at home. If you look at our record at home for this year we're nearly the worst team at home but it's a whole different story away! At least we got one! 😆 I know its bizarre. I'm looking forward to tonight and tomorrow! We are weird this year.🤷 life gives you lemons you have to make lemonade right! Cheers bud!
Cool to see the Twins break through - stop the winless streak and moving on in the playoffs. But the astroles are a juggernaut in the playoffs. No matter - Go Twins! (I'm a Cub fan so I know all about playoff streaks 😂)
The Twins had their share of injuries, and then some. Royce Lewis, if he can stay healthy for once, is on a path to being as good as anyone in baseball. The Astro's are a formidable opponent, and I'm not certain if the Twins are ready to dethrone them, but I'm pretty sure the Twins will give the Astro's all they want.
I respect you so much for making this video

The twins are literally my favorite team
Now The Twins won Game 2 vs Astros Tied 1-1. They are going home and hope they can get to ALCS.
The bats have to come alive. Way to many men left on base. I don't think the Astros will let them get away with it

This is true the Twins offense wasn't overwhelming shutting down the Astros won't be easy but it can be done stranger things have happened thats why i love baseball above all other sports because it's so unpredictable.
Do the Twins stand a shot to get to the WS? Sure. Do I think they could win it all? No and I say this as a humble Twins fan. They need another big bat in that lineup. Atlanta is my pick to win it all. They have so much offense it's mind blowing. Add in the fact that Atlanta just tied the Twins season HR record shows they have tons of power and will plow through their opponents. Still...it would be cool to see a Twins/Braves WS rematch.
The Twins only went 24-21 against AL central opponents. So the certainty didn’t fatten up against competition they should’ve. There was only two series all year in which they looked overmatched and that was against Baltimore and Atlanta who had a lot of teams walking away scratching their heads. Both series were pre all star break when the Twins weren’t playing well. We’ll see what happens but pitching and home runs win playoff series. Going into hitter friendly Houston should help the bats get going
As an LA transplant in St Paul…and don’t follow the Twins because I’m do or die Dodgers…I would not have a clue that the Twins where nothing more than an underachieving team in a weak division based on the talking heads at KFAN (the sports radio station) It’s nice to hear an unbiased, non pessimistic take on the Twins.. I’d love to see a repeat of the ‘65 WS with the Twins vs Dodgers
Great analysis!
The two teams met each other in the first two A.L. play-off - which started in 1969.
Don't sleep on the rest of the lineup. The twins are loaded with bats. Besides keeping Solano and Castro in the lineup somehow, the mid season call ups of wallner and julien, jeffers finally getting playing time, and Lewis, kepler and kiriloff getting healthy, these 2nd half stats aren't a fluke. Imagine if Buxton was healthy. I get it though, the twins offense was awful when we had buck and Correa playing hurt, and all other hitters were basically bench players. A lineup of solano, Castro, gallo, farmer, taylor, Vazquez, hurt buck and hurt Carlos was never gonna do it. Although I'm sure everyone has heard that Buxton is trying to come back, I'm skeptical he will be healthy enough to make a difference.
As a cynical Minnesota sports fan...shhhhhhhhhh you're gonna jinx it lol sing their praises AFTER they win please. Thanks lololol We don't believe until about 20 minutes after the final whistle.

Two al east teams eliminated while scoring two runs. Baltimore better show something, or the east dominance may be just a theory.
I was born and raised in the Land of 10,00 Lakes. I'm hoping for '87 Twins 2.0. That year, they won just 85 games and won in a weak division. Now, Minnesota pro sports has not been kind to us since the 91 World Series. I'm still in therapy (not really, just kidding) for Gary Anderson's missed field goal
Maybe just maybe we can get a rematch of the 1991 WS Twins and Braves
The Astros put the brakes on the Twins today.

The Astros better look out - and I doubt its over after that too. Much love bro stay cool
No surprises anything can happen in a short series. First of all the Jays split the season with the Twins they went 3 to 3 during the season so getting beat by the Twins shouldn't shock anyone and its also about streaks when a team gets caught at the right or wrong time.
They had a lot of disappointing series against average or below average teams but they were pretty competitive against the best A.L. teams throughout the regular season.
THANK YOUUUU!!!! Finally someone said something about them
Don't know if it's your mic or the eq settings but the overtones of your voice are really loud and sound grating ro my ears.
I enjoyed the Twins season as a radio listener, and the great radio play-by-play crew includes Dan Gladden. The team reached "playoff caliber" early in the season and no other team ever dusted them off. It's been a great season. Who knows how far the Twins will go!
The 4-2 record against the Astros does not include a game with their top two starters, Verlander or Framber. And Verlander has good numbers this year from games with the Mets.

@@nathanlindahl8336 no sir I am a true mn sports fan and have been through all the pain that's out there . Been a vikings fan since the 70's. 98 was a soul crushing blow. But even that hasn't stolen from me the strength to carry on. But here's the thing my friend, 1987 things changed , the Twins were a young team with a ton of potential and everyone thought they had no chance except for me , I made a shit ton of money that year and again 4 years later. The Twins have been the flicker that keeps the fire warm and occasionally flashes up in brilliant but oh so brief moment and this feels the way the 87 Twins felt. The Twins took us to the top of the mountain twice since 87 they will take us there again. A true fan is always a fan even when the team could loose to the bad news bears, and wheels cone off and Jerry Burns has a meltdown in the press conference over Bob Shnelker .... and I'm an eternal optimist always hope for the best but never expect nor anticipate . Thats an easy assumption considering the Astros let alone LA and the Braves but this is baseball anything can hppen in a short series. I'm a Boston fan who would have thought that they would beat the Yankees being down 3 games to none in 2004 it has never been done and probably won't be repeated. One could say the same for the Twins but their chances are even better then the 2004 Red Sox the Twins back isn't against the wall not yet.
