I love it when Brian does reviews on these mini pc's. He always does an in depth review of all the internals and externals by showing us what's inside and outside the case and what cables are included. I just wanted to say thank you Brian for staying on top of the latest and greatest of the mini's. I was pretty blown away be the number of fan blades on that cooler fan. I think I counted like 70 blades total. The airflow that thing must create. Price is fair for what it does. No complaints here.
If you have an appropriate need a mini pc is a great piece of kit. I bought an Intel nuc 18 months ago to use as a media pc and also to zoom with. I have it permanently hooked up to my large screen Sony TV and a webcam and it performs flawlessly. If I had discovered Beelink I might have saved a few quid for a similar spec but the nuc is a solid piece of kit which will last me a long time so I am happy with that.
I have 2 of these beelink mini pc's. I replaced my desktop computer with a beelink GTR6 and I bought a SER5 to replace another computer. They're awesome. Edit: The GTR6 does a good job gaming.. with a bunch of other programs running (including 7 instances of another game concurrently), it still runs ghost recon breakpoint on ultra settings at 30 fps.
if anyone on the fence about it it always go on sale i have last gen model its a tank i run 3 (4k tv) but at 1440p and can load up 50+tabs and go work on it 2 screens at 4k is good too bee like makes a hell of a product i do recommend changeing the thermal paste, they use a copper cooling so if u keep it flat ddef try liquid metal its quiet af
What is the typical power consumption of a mini PC compared to a laptop or desktop?
I think the “game-changer” with respect to mini PCs will come later this year when AMD releases the next-generation Ryzen “U” variant processor. It’s supposed to include RDNA3 graphics onboard, finally making an APU with decent graphics processing. That should give a huge graphics boost to mini PCs based on this mainstream chip.
Two years ago I bought a cheap mini PC with a J4125 processor. I use it as a media player for the TV and a server that's running 24x7. I believe the power adapter was only 24W. That thing works so well, I wonder what would be a use case for such high power mini PC as this Beelink. At that price, better to get a normal PC so you can plug in a video card for gaming. Or get a laptop at the same price. I'm also guessing that compacting such high power into a small case will not go well for longevity. You might get high failure rate after 1 or 2 years.
I love my little Beelink. Small, powerful for an everyday desktop.
Anyone else clicked the video coz of the beauty on the thumbnail 😂
I bought one for my wife. She loves it. Small, quiet and fast.
This MiniPC has decent specs. For most people, 16GB of RAM is all you need. As you said this is not designed to be a gaming PC
what would ta mini pc be like for audio jobs like making music ? If you already have an external audio interface, and external storage, the main requirements are the processor speed and the Ram, so how would a good spec mini pc fare against an 8 year old desktop tower ?
I'm mostly happy with my older Beelink, but it's ability to run quietly didn't last very long. Now the fan makes a lot of noise, and it always runs on medium, or high speed. In comparison, after roughly the same amount of time, my Lenovo laptop is still essentially silent.
@BrandochGarage
Жыл бұрын
@cyberfunk_is_a_prick Thanks, but it's more along the lines that even when it's not being 'used, and idling, so to speak, whereas it used to be whisper quiet, not it goes into a mode where the fan goes on higher. It has three basic levels, low, medium, and then high when doing more graphics intensive stuff. so now it's medium or high, and rarely goes low. i assume it just runs hotter than it used to.

Hello. Parts can be replaced by contacting the after-sales.
Your talking about it. I haven't heard everyone talking about.
Quite fascinating how much power can come from these mini pcs
Wow, this mini PC is really nice. The intel Xe graphics is a low power consumption card that supports up to 4 HD monitors for optimal gaming, 1080 60 fps. Wow, wow, wow!
Why can't google figure out how to do subtitles on the previews? It's like the world has devolved over the last decade. Not only is stuff done poorly but no one notices or bothers to fix it.
I am more interested in its ability to render video, say with daVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro than play games. With the latest version of both, there's no point in testing a "standard" older version because software upgrades are free for the former, included in your subscription for the latter. Sounded to me like you were saying D-Link.
These are interesting, not heard of this make before, so thanks for bringing them to our attention. We’ve been using Intel NUCs at work deployment, may consider these in the future.

I am sure you are aware already, but Beelink branded computers are built by AZW in China. I dont think they manufacture anything. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Followed your link to Amazon,, not 1 of those pc’s is available to buy, don’t know when it will be. And at £650 for the middle offering, with the maxed out mini at over £900.00 ($1,300 C) that’s just about $1,000.00 Canadian, plenty of other options for that price, even if it’s not a mini. 🇨🇦

Good for the dosh if the fans dont go crazy loud on a load.
Nice review. How many watts does it pull from the wall ?
NO DP? I would buy one if it had it
I'd rather buy a laptop any day. I don't see the advantage of cramming everything into a tiny package and then charging a premium price. Some reviewers have complained about overheating, even when not gaming or running cpu-taxing software.
HDMI inputs??
So where is the thunderbolt port, does it have enough power to run Davinci Resolve? How do I make music with I do not care about USB 3 ports cause I have no USB 3 hardware not even USB 2 gear more than flashdrives. And even though I have been using computers since the mid 80 ies I never heard anyting anout this PC.
How loud is the fan. I get headaches from the slighest sounds and my current Dell Laptop is borderline with the fan.
How would it fare being used solely for music production software (Cubase 12 pro) being used at times for up to 8-10 hours continual use with a twin display?
Can I attach my old 1080 GPU?
Dude at first I thought that Spec sheet was written in Chinese. That was the WORST font to use think it was in comics sans, I don't have any issues with it in general, but with so much information and without a lot of space and center justified it was just to difficult even on pause to read. I recommend you try a different approach. Other than that well done.
Is there any delay loading KZread videos? Thanks
Why is it considered small when it consists if 2 parts, one of them silently ignored? That's just comparing oranges with apples. I prefer devices 3 times the size if it's all in one
"HDMI inputs" ... Shouldn't that be OUTPUTS?
Mini PCs are great little project PCs - for stuff like a low-cost Homelab/virtualization. They aren't much good for gaming as the Xe graphics is crap on modern games, but it is enough to drive a 4k desktop, even two, without much issue. Great for lightweight computing tasks like school work and ranting on social media. My issue with Bee-link is many of their systems don't offer a "barebones" configuration - including this one. I have to buy their base configuration and toss out the drive and memory if I wanted something more capable - just seems very wasteful. I suppose I could put the drive into an enclosure or sell it on eBay - but a lot more hassle than it is worth. I just bought a similar type system - the NUC 12 Pro i7 (1260P) as a barebones - but I think it is a bit more expensive.

The new M1/M2 Mac minis are actually by far the best mini-pc:s on the market.
I understand the concept. The PC is modularized so you have PC, screen, keyboard separate so you don’t have to buy everything all over again in one unit to upgrade.

The reason I like mini PCs is because I don't want that clunky giant desktop taking up room in my desk area. But I don't want to pay a lot for them either so I end up getting the cheaper ones and then they are crap. Super slow to try to do anything with.
