This band. Genuine dudes making music like no one else does. I've been trying to listen to "similar bands" like Timecop and stuff but nothing gets closer as how these guys make me feel with almost every song. Thank you.

I've been trying to get my mom who is in her 70s to listen to my favorite band ever here with this song. It's bizarre to me that most of the people I know who are 35 and older don't like this music, or are at best indifferent to it. This music is tailor made for their generation! They should feel younger and have happy memories come to mind, but no instead they reply that I should listen to their garbage they hear on the pop radio stations. PFFFFFT! NAW!

everything is clear in the rear view mirror is also such a great line too for someone that has passed away. This song channels something deep
Everything is clear in the rear view mirror The coast highway and the golden hour Only love Nothing was lost Everything fits when you tell your story The blurry portraits in the halls of former lovers Gone But nothing was lost You'll always be a part of me You gave me a song to sing Dancing in your room Innocent and true Elvis tattoo on your shoulder We'll know better when we're older You'll always be a part of me Some wounds will always sting Forever in full bloom Barely twenty two Summer days are growing colder We'll know better when we're older All of this was planned when the world was started The red blood hearts The final word was never said I'm tossing in my bed But everything is clear in the rear view mirror When nothing is left The lights of evening round us shine Pink and silver skies You'll always be a part of me You gave me a song to sing Dancing in your room Innocent and true Elvis tattoo on your shoulder We'll know better when we're older You'll always be a part of me Some wounds will always sting Forever in full bloom Barely twenty two Summer days are growing colder We'll know better when we're older

The best days of my life are my school days. They are far gone now. Ill never ever live happier evdr again. Innocence and stupidity of doing thing just for fun was the point of living those days.
This is just GOOSE BUMPS MUSIC!!!!! (I love saxophone so much)
You guys are a freakin' serious band, you have perfect melodic phrases and great lyrical hooks, I mean who could ever forget "everything looks clear in the reeearview mirrooor"? That shit stays there for ever, keeps looping in your head and with every loop brings about some indefinite indistinguishable vague good good something, to be more exact something between a feeling and an emotion, a medium shutter speed glimpse of summer sun ray warmth through a breezy tree and it's gone kind of something, or a glance at the rear view mirror in a top down Eldorado, remembering with joy and a little sadeness but firmly moving forwards. Looking down the road you're trying to figure things out, but not trying too hard, we'll know better when we're older.
Easily one of the best songs I've ever heard, and this version is pure bliss. Like spending a perfect day with a person you already love, just when you think things can't get any better, they do. Quite astonishing.

That is a beautiful sentence :)
This song transports my soul to another place and another time... Long in the past, of both fond and sad memories at the same time... Maybe said memory is when I saw and met my first girlfriend back in 2005 and being completely fallen for her, or when I graduated from college and how proud I was, or when a close friend of mine died in a tragic traffic accident, or when I held and ran with my dog on a beach for the first time, or how I've lost contact from so many friends I had back in the day due to growing up and adulthood.. All those memories from past experiences just crash into one another in my head once this song starts... It's just raw emotion that comes out from me and I love that because of what the song produces within me. Hope I'm not alone on this. Amazing song, one of my favorites from them!

Same here. I hadn't actually liked any band much for the past 15 years, then The Midnight came along and now I go around telling people I know that they are the best band to form in the past decade.
I have been an amateur musician for over 2 decades..and I consider "The Midnight" to be my secret gem.. a polished mix of 80's and modern music with kick ass saxophone.... its so refreshing to listen to something like that instead of popular music on the radio. For years I thought I'd never have a favorite song ever again, until I heard this. This song means so much to me that it changed my life. It's one of those songs that opens your eyes to seeing nostalgia and the fleeting moments of your life. We try our best to hold on, and now I try my best to keep making the moments this song makes you think about. I thought I was alone in trying to capture the autumn leaves falling or the petals of the cherry blossoming in spring. This is Mono No Aware in its truest form. I can't wait to finish the video I am creating dedicated to the midnight and this feeling!
One of many songs that should have made it to tour. Although, to be fair I'd prefer a 5 hour concert where I got to hear every single song by The Midnight! Bring lots of water and pack a lunch!
