I remember my sister telling me these exact words not long before she died. She talked all about her own theories on where life goes, the endless possibilities of things we’ll never know. She was 17. She wasn’t terminally ill, at least not medically. But she did take her own life soon after. It’s been 12 years and I still wonder, if anywhere, where she might have gone. I hope it’s somewhere beautiful. I hope her soul found freedom. In whatever way that may be.

The E.N.D. (Energy. Never. Dies.) Phenomenal through and through. This whole album gave me chills and brought upon several tears. Living in a time of harsh and quick personal change, it is relieving to have a sense of allowance to feel everything through, even if it may be painful. A lot of emotions were evoked and expressed while listening to this wonderful album, but it was not until Energy Never Dies, It Just Transforms and its' closing envelopment of the entire album, where l felt a true sense of closure to some chapters in my life. It allows this window into the past, watching it speed by as I reflect on everything leading up to the now. Speculation about myself, my life, my place in this world. All faded when entranced by this spectacular exemplar of "Mono no aware". The bittersweet feeling of watching time pass. The bittersweet emotions felt from the closing of a legendary trilogy. It is the height of emotion. A perfect stepping stone for me to heal and move on. Keep being spectacular, The Midnight. It saves lives.

i was born 87 this brings so many memories back it hit me in the feels.

This particular track got to me the most in the album. Because it sounds very different from their usual style while at the same time keeping the charm there a little bit. It feels like The Midnight closing their album with this track could hint that they're going new routes. And with the title of the song, I believe it even more. But with change, I'll support it and am eager to know how they may sound perhaps three years from now 🔥

This song is a work of art…a true masterpiece. The emotion is palpable. It makes me feel how I felt when I lost my dad. Bitterly sad, yet hopeful knowing in my sorrow he was rising in a far better place…somewhere beyond the horizon where the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets blaze forever. Until we meet again, Pops…miss you always.

First time listening to this song I’ll never forget. I was sitting on my porch and it came on and I just cried. And let myself not be ok because this song comforted me and when I was done, I knew everything was gonna be fine for me. It’s like this song said “come here child. Tell me your sorrows” and gave me a huge hug

It's good when we find something that helps us feel and express things that are on our mind. I'm glad you found comfort in this track. It certainly has meant quite a bit to me.

That callback to their early stuff at the end though, ending off the album with sounds of a rainstorm, which were the basis around several of their biggest early songs, such as Collateral, Static, Days of Thunder, Shadows, and more. Energy never dies, it just transforms. *The Midnight's sound never dies. It just transforms.*

Thank you for this song. I’m in a dark place at the moment, I don’t know where I’m going and the person I thought was going to be the love of my life just faded away and left me with sweet memories, a broken heart and projects thrown at the window. This song feels like looking at it for real, realizing what will never be but that life goes on. I will never be the same.

A comment on the thumbnail. The view is of someone looking down towards the floor past the TV set tube and what to me is the VCR below it. Th VCR sits crooked on its shelf because when you were setting a recording time, pressing play, or changing stations, ie pressing buttons, the machine would often slide slightly on its shelf and no longer sit square. Both the shelf and the VCR's feet were often smooth, so this happened. Thanks for this little bit of virtual verisimilitude awakening a long forgotten memory. Greetings from 🇨🇦

Instantly my favorite song off the album (of which I loved almost every moment). There's just something about a song that not only sounds amazing, but also fits (both musically AND the title) a concept that I hold close. In this case, my hope is that when we die, we become a type of energy that can then go anywhere/anytime we want. I don't actually believe there is an afterlife, but if I'm proven wrong, I'd like it to be that. I'd travel the stars and watch them be born, die. Visit black holes, nebulae, and of course, life on other planets, in our galaxy and others. This song just makes me think of what that might be like. And then the rain calls me back home at the end. Damn fine way to close out the new album guys. Thank you.

I’m a heavy metal guy and occasionally listen to music like this. Hearing the entire album brings me back to when I first met my wife and the first days my son was born. You just won over a new fan!

I think this is what the word "shedding" sounds like. Even though we shed old memories, encounters, chapters, people, places, triggers, versions of ourselves and many more, the energy that once associated with all of those emotions and feelings is still there. The feeling is gone but the energy is still there. Maybe the peaceful feeling of allowing all emotions and feelings to take over for once. Even the bad and painful ones, should be allowed to break free. This reminds me of the final chapter i closed with an old version of mine that was weak, reluctant and desperate. I learned so much from her but when it was time for her to depart, I listened to this so g and we both shed tears of happiness, relief, excitement and sadness. I loved her so much and i know for a fact she loved me back, but a new version of myself was awaiting me. The old one could not compete with her excitement to finally meet me. She may not be present with me at the moment in 2023, but i can still feel her energy and presence in every step. I make sure to express my gratitude every time i recall a memory of her. To the 2022 me, i love you and i am thankful for each and every lesson possible, you will always be a part of me and my growth. I wish you well.. 🩷🩷
