Great video! Binging through a lot of your content lately, I have to say, that I regret my ‚tips‘ for playing micro stakes, as your level is certainly at least as high as mine, probably way higher. However, I have one question about ‚opening tighter when weak players are still to act‘: I always thought, I can open slightly wider when weaker players are in late position, because we want to play pots with them. I guess we are going to get even less 3 bet compared to average pool and they are going to make a lot of mistakes postflop while still playing pretty straightforward usually. So I was a little surprised about this adjustment of you.

Hey, thanks for watching this video and my other content! I agree with your sentiment vs weak tight players that fold too much, but against players that call too much and then call a lot post flop as well, I'd rather just have better hands so that I can just aggressively value bet against them! Not to say we still can't open hands with good playability, just not a fan of opening garbage hands vs players than overcall a lot. Appreciate the support.

Very great video Nick. Around 2.30 you start talking about the difference between NL 5 and NL 10. I had a hard time understanding what you mean. Had to look up discernable. And you talk about a sounds strategy vs exploitable strategy. Not sure what you mean by that. Sometimes I struggle with languages, but than I ask to learn. :) Thanks again for the great video. Heyyy what's up Zaratras! Sorry if this was a bit confusing. My point was that I don't think there is a reason to play too differently overall, but I have a lot of notes and hands on players at 10nl so naturally I exploit a lot more than at a stake where I haven't played much and don't know the pool. Against unknowns, we need to revert to solid strategy as we have no solid reasoning for exploits. Glad that you liked the video! Nice content. What would be your decision to a check-raise Check Jump on the River? There are some spots like his where this decision can ruin the win rate of the day..

at 13:22, can you explain the idea behind "with a diamond, we can check behind on this turn card" ? I thought we need to keep protecting our hand against some FD and over cards. awesome video btw

It's just because our hand needs less protection from flush draws when we hold a diamond, and it's nice to be able to call some rivers when we check back as our opponent will do a lot of stabbing on the river. Glad you liked it, thanks for watching!

hi, I love yourvideos but sometimes I dont understand your choice of betsizing.... for example at 22:05 you have toppair on a board where villain could have flush draws, straight draws,or just a worse king, but you only bet 1/3 pot. Can you exaplin this? I understand the point of betting smaller on a dry board because they cant really call with much, but surely on a more wet board we should try to get max value? If villain has a flush draw here he will call regardless of whether we bet 33% of pot or 75% of pot, so why bet less? Why not try to extract more?

Which HUD do you use and which do you recommend? Do you find it mandatory when playing zoom to have an HUD?

When you talk about adjusting to player tags, can you give a sense of what kind of adjustments you will make?

Awesome video! What's the reasoning behind checking pocket 5s when you say "checking pocket fives with the 5c"? Because it blocks the Ac5c and thus we are blocking more of the worse hands that can call? Not that pocket 5s is a very good hand to bet for value anyways but if we just focus on the fact that you wanted to check because you hold the 5c and just wanted to hear your thoughts on that :) Thanks!

Thanks! I've scanned through quickly to look for the hand but can't find it, but I imagine it's because our hand needs less protection when we have the 5c which means we are happier to negotiate our way to showdown. Glad you enjoyed it!

Nice video thanks Nick. What point should I move up in stakes? I've been playing 2NL and have played almost 20,000 hands at a win rate of just over 10BBs/100. I feel very comfortable at this level. Should I move up to 5NL?

Thanks Steve! You should definitely move up to 5nl with that win rate and also feeling comfortable is key. You want to have around 25-30 buy ins which I'm sure you'll have it sounds like. Good luck!

At 9:54 on the right would you call IP with the double gutter if there was only flush draw?

I’m curious, if you tag a player as green what exactly are you saying about that player and how does a green tag influence your decision making?

Snap labelling short stacks is so interesting, I've never thought of that and that's such a quick win.. 20BB etc clearly they are stone fish. Are there ever any decent players playing 50-70BB stacks at these stakes though, or are they similarly almost gtd to be bad?

What are the green labels for? Some of them are 90bb+? Understand the 20-50bb labels. Good idea.

I'm realizing I call way too much...middle suited connectors I just call all the time. Pairs below 99 call. Going to try more of this strategy see how it goes.

I really appreciate your videos, but quick question: why do you play aggressively pre flop (rarely calling, mostly open raising and 3betting) but play so passively/nitty post flop? You check so many hands down to the river, and some of your explanations don’t make sense to me. Especially when the villain is showing clear weakness, wouldn’t it be +EV to make a stronger Cbet on the flop (instead of 1/3rd pot) or even some semi bluffs on the turn and river, instead of checking to showdown?

Tbh mate this was released a long time ago and I'm a very different player these days. If I watched this back I'd probably disagree with a chunk of what I'm saying, but I imagine this somewhat cautious strategy also performs quite well vs pool. At the time I was probably winning a bit more often than I do now even though I feel I've come a long way theoretically. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Can't tell if you actually want to know or just picked the hand at 22:00! I definitely would normally but had a conversation recently with someone who suggested it is better to 1/3rd in these spots. I'll check this again and get back to you!

At 12:02 why didn‘t you go 3 streets for the stackoff since the he has all the Ts in his range?

I noticed sometimes you say you know someone on the video but when I check the hands it only shows 11 hands (18 minutes 50 seconds). Am I missing something here? Just wanted to check! Thankss

It's just not a good hand in these positions. I don't play any calls, and I'm okay with it featuring sometimes as a 3b player dependent but certainly not all the time. It's just not a hand that will win you much money here.
