Especially the tracks he played on with "the man" around 70´ are next to rhythm perfection and almost not human, he was the relentless "machinery" (too much for JAMES to cope with) at the time for JAMES BROWN and his universe of super bad FUNK! But, there's always a but right? GEORGE PORTER JR. and "ZIGABOO": the rhythm undisputed gods, played in a whole different league! They are soo synched, tight and they interlock each other on the verge to become one essence! I have never to this day heard anything like THE METERS, my time spending listening to rhythm-based music must be counted in decades rather than hours and years, so I have a pretty solid foundation to back up what I love! Sorry, almost slipped my mind. Never forget the accent to the rhythm (the other way around than all other genres) LEO and ART provided, without them, THE METERS wouldn't have to be! My two cents anyway :)

Given the year, I'ma say qualuuds, weed, and bourbon to set the mood, and bumps of coke to keep it going. Vivé le cocktail!

Bourbon and weed I'm sure, since they played music in the '70s, but not enough to make it sloppy. Nothing against drugs, I just think "good show " and leave it
great
