You ever listen to a song that you already came to because you're in a bad mood? And while you're listening to it, you realize some of the lyrics are describing what happened to you picture perfectly? Then you just get even more sad because it sounds like someone's singing a song specifically about what you're going through? Yeah, me either. *cries in corner*

To me, hiding words in my mouth for fear of them being recognized sums up an old relationship I had. Thought I was deeply in love, we were together for years and years. High-school sweethearts, we grew up together and went through all of those moments who make you into who you are, together. I one day heard the words 'I love you too much to leave, but I don't like you enough to stay," and hearing those were the start of the end. I was so distraught with thinking that was what was happening. I would hide these words, not wanting to recognize them as the truth i already knew.. I didn't want to consider I needed to move on, to leave the person I cared for so deeply to my bones. She ended up leaving me one night, for largely the same reason. We needed to retreat, and recognize what we turned into. It hurt like hell, and at that point it was the truest, most substantial emotion I had had in my life. We had broken up a few times before, we always got back together, but this time it felt different. I moved on. She resented me for that. I got better, healthier, sober, worked on my mental health and my understanding of myself. She got worse, unhealthy, deeper into drugs and alcohol, and started rumors through our ex friend group to try to hold on to some control. This situation is a dusting of some of the things, but it's a good example of the lyric.

My girl she's a good one She's always on my mind She is a rose and I am a stone She's always poking her head out And striking a pose I'm always plucking her petals And some nights we fall out of love Some nights I sleep in her arms Some nights I sleep on the couch Well I spent that night in our past life Wringing out the years from our shoes In the distance yo lived with my signature Penned on a treaty that kept our armies at rest But I was a pushy little one When you tried to find someone new I just kind of waited around for you Because what else was I suppose to do? I know where your heartache exists It's when you are alone and when you're around me I saw it in your face the day we parked your car On the shoulder by the reservoir And in my mouth my words did hide For fear of being recognized

Hi bud, it's capo on 2. Starts on G major chord with the little hammer on/pull off on the A string, then goes to Em. Slide up to 7th fret on D string, then 6th fret on D string, 7th fret on A string and that's the little intro. The chorus is G, D, Em, C Bridge is Am, D, (C, G?? not sure) Em I think the verse is just G, Em, C back to G but not totally sure. If anyone can fill in the blanks that'd be great

Richie Mills Intro sounds great, but I think after the A string on the 7th Fret, he also hits an open low E on the 7th fret

You can play it in standard tuning without a capo. A, F#m, D for the verse, and A, E, F#m, D for the chorus. Will sound a hair off but still pretty close.
