The "Medical Conspiracy Iceberg" EXPLAINED | INSANE TRUE MEDICAL FACTS

INSANE true medical facts, everything from conspiracy to horrible experiments, deadly pathogens and scientific discoveries that changed the course of history as we know it.
This is deeper dive - as in you've probably never heard of most of these before. As a medical doctor in the final year of my residency, I've always been fascinated by the stories of medicine's past and the cautionary tales directed at our future. This Is tier 2 of my 4 part iceberg about medicine where we'll be looking at some of the most obscure facts about a field that I've studied for more than 10 years to be working in. I hope you learn something interesting while you're here and please feel free to share what you think belongs on the later tiers of this list in the comments below :)

Hi everyone :) I hope you enjoyed today's video as much as I did. Finally having a chance to watch this one back, I can see that some of my subtitles were somehow cut off in the editing process which is embarrassing, but I'll be sure to fix them at the end when I combine all 4 parts of the iceberg into a 3 hour video 😎 Also, to anyone who had questions about the moustache 😅... you don't get a lot of sleep on your ICU block for residency AND I filmed this at the end of Movember. This year, we raised $5000 in support of men's health and suicide prevention and a tonne of fun doing it 💪 see you all in the next video

Thanks Conor, I appreciate it 💪 I 100% agree. There's a lot of topics on here that I hadn't heard of before starting this series and that effect becomes more pronounced as we descend the iceberg. You gotta love always learning something new. Take care

Thanks for sharing that one Sean :) I had come across Anatoli's story in passing but hadn't done a deep dive on it myself in the past. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for more physics experiment disaster type incidents.

As for medical tourism; I'm a brazilian med student (I'm still at the very start), and here in Brazil the public health system is offered to anyone for free. And they REALLY mean ANY. ONE. I've heard cases of outsiders coming on vacation here and just casually go have some dental treatment in the basic health care unities. Although not perfect (far from it, really), the Brazilian public health system is interesting, to say the least. It's worthy of some respect, at the very least.

I hope it finds the right audience in the next couple of weeks. I tried to change my language as best as I could but it would appear as though some topics get flagged pretty hard regardless. It won't stop the next video from coming out though 💪
