The Michigan Contractor of the Year (MCOY) Awards from the American Subcontractors Association of Michigan aim to celebrate and honor contractors who exemplify outstanding attributes in the construction industry. This includes demonstrating excellence in project management, safety practices, community involvement, and overall dedication to the trade contracting community.
Candidates are evaluated for performance based on the following criteria:

- Project Onsite Supervision
- Payment Terms
- Project Relationships & Collaboration
- Quality Workmanship
- Safety
- Schedule Coordination
General Contractors and Construction Managers are nominated, rated, and voted by trade contractors and suppliers who are members of ASAM. This is not an award that can be purchased or won by a popular vote - you have to earn it.
