Not really. McLarens are pretty but break down constantly. A porsche 911 is still a far far better everyday sports car. The Russ Hannemans of the world buy McLarens, the non-douches buy 911s.

Leggo My Ego That is such a generalization. The 570s is an amazing car to drive (MT best drivers car winner), yet you are saying that anyone who owns one is a douche. What if they are just someone who loves cars and loves driving and wants an amazing car to drive? The Turbo S is great, but definitely not as fun as a 570s.

My dream back in the 80s was an Audi Quattro. And I ended my dream with An RS5. You may some day have a car in the spirit of the 570s.

I would love to get 570s as my supercar if I can.. but the depreciation of Mclaren is crazy... I would choose lp570, sounds greate and doesn't depreciate much.

It looks like it is smiling. They should give it a Joker paint job because really, it does look like Joker's smile on the front of the car. Really cool car by the way!

No mention of resale value if bought new ? Well, it is horrendous! Nearly drops 40% once you buy it new. That is why second hand is king with this model. Servicing Mclarens at the moment is another PIA. Not worth it ...... Maybe in 3-5 years time they will have established enough sales to have a descent service department.

my dads first supercar was the 570s (if u don’t count Bentley cus that’s more luxury) totally worth it. drives amazing and it’s good for daily driving. one of my favorite cars 😍

What McLaren need next is a £50,000 sports car that is not a supercar but is about fun and not high speed. Lightweight in its profile and something closer to say an M4 or MX5/Miata. If they can do this then they will become a massive player in the sports car market place.

British sports cars at one point could be had by working class people. The cheapest McLaren is £120,000. And the car itself is too much for British roads and a driver would never get near to potential on the roads. There is a massive gap in the sports car market for a true sports car that is lightweight, affordable and is more about experience than track day performance. Base Porsches used to offer this with an NA engine but their new Turbos have now made them stupidly fast to the point that nobody could really get to the cars potential on the road. Is it not too much to ask the likes of Mclaren to develop a £50,000 sports car that is about the thrill of the drive rather than raw performance figures.

Obviously this is more special than the 911 turbo s and the R8, but it doesn't look as good as the others McLarens, I don't know if these journalists got paid to say that it looks amazing or if they are on drugs. Nevertheless, McLaren is known to depreciate as fast as its cars and we know there is a spyder version coming up, so this could be one of the biggest steels on the used market

I had to choose between this and a huracan, the performance is amazing for the price. 0-60 in 3.1 is amazing for the price, I choose the huracan instead, the570s's cabin was cramped and uncomfortable at 6ft 4. The huracan was better, also less floaty than the 570.

Thought I was watching Top Gear with that beginning

if I was lucky enough to afford a 911 turbo ..I wouldn't! ..I'd get this instead!

I have a 911 turbo s and would not trade it in for the Mclaren. The 570s is a beautiful car, but I saw what happened with the MP4-C and wouldn't want the constant repairs and massive depreciation that you get with Mclaren. I like being able to drive several times a week without needing to go to the shop every few months. I also like that the 911 turbo s blends in more and people don't bother you as much.

So don't go kidding that your riding in a tank. .the mclaren is a work of art and it has proven itself time and time again . As I say I'd go for something that turns heads and is special on the road

It's not a "supercar". It's part of the Sports Series which is the entry level sports car. Super Series which is the 650S and 675LT could be considered supercars.

The ultimate deciding factor should come down to how these cars mentioned feel to drive, but in terms of sound, the R8 simply destroys the boring sounding 570. That's a big deal when you begrudgingly accept the fact that you can only use a fraction of the performance of any of these cars. Then with the 911, the Porsche's sound is still better than the 570, the looks of the 911 aren't exactly beautiful but it's a lot better looking than the 570. So it really comes down to driving feel and that's one of Porsche's strongest areas. I have to keep reminding myself of Mclaren's racing pedigree because tbh I'm not really overwhelmed by what I've seen. The only car I would reject outright in favour of the 570 would be Ferrari's disasterous California T. An absolute pig of a car.

I might be able to afford this in 20 years, when the depreciation makes it as much as a Camry!

All that time and you did not go over 3/4 of the features of the dash, trunk, etc. that are unique to this car? Over 13 minutes and you did not show the ALL NEW dashboard which was their focus going into 2020.

I'm sorry but Mclaren maintenance is just a horrible experience. I don't see this car out selling the Lamborghini models and I believe this will just get lost in the sportscar world. The looks of this car is ok in my opinion but not fluke the guy described it lol. It looks like a design that got lost and I'm sure you won't see many of these on the road.

I looked seriously at the MP4 12c last year when many accounts of poor reliability and out of warranty repairs costing their owners tens of thousands, steered me conservatively to a 991.2 Porsche Carrera. This kind of money is a big stretch for me. I can do it, but I'm not willing to, if it's going to sit in the garage. I hear current McLaren owners complaining about brutal depreciation. I welcome that factor because that's the only way any McLaren will fall to near or below $100k. They are gorgeous to look at. I can't imagine not being thrilled by the driving experience. But please let me know when they become reliable and typical repair costs are reined in.

You made a good choice with the Porsche. They are much more comfortable and a better daily than any Mac on many levels. Macs are so hard edged. Also you got Porsche reliability and it wont kill your bank account over time. I understand the allure of Macs though. Nothing like them, but they are so expensive to own (why they depreciate so badly) and they tend to be garage queens for a reason. If you want to step up from Carrera some day, I suggest 911 turbo or GT3, or Audi R8 V10.

Great machine..but I'd take a 15 Viper T/A, & Defiantly the 2016 Viper ACR over it.

This car is doing to the supercar market what the original NSX did to Ferrari/Lamborghini etc in the 90s. Too bad Acura kinda blew it with the new one....they should have made this☝️

If you want a McLaren, the only reason you'd buy this is because you couldn't quite afford the 650S. They're so similar, except the 570S is seemingly designed for buyers with smaller balls, smaller wallets, and arthritic knees.

If I had the money and I was going for a McLaren, I would go for the 570GT instead.

You speak as if this is not a supercar...like it's just a sports car. Like a Mustang, Camaro, BMW M3, Acura NSX (1996), and other sporty cars that are sub-175 mph cars that do 12-15 seconds in the 1/4 mile. The McLaren 570s, Sir, is indeed a supercar.

I disagree. From experience owning 911turbo, R8 V10, MP12c, and 570S, the Mac is the last supercar one should own. Its a track car to be honest. Especially the 570S, Macs are hard edged and less comfortable than the more comfy, much much better daily driver of the Porsche or Audi. Macs are for the occasional balls to the wall driving, if that’s your thing. Its a car that’s ready and waiting to beat you up. Its why they have such few mileage and tend to be garage queens. I dont have experience with Italian supercars. I suspect Ferraris are on par with the friendlier Audi and Porsche also.
