Holy s***!! I search KZread every day for any new videos on premerger amg cars and they are few and far between. Most of them there's no talking it's just pictures which are cool but you know I want to know more about the car how it was bought why they attended the way they did was back in the nineties it was totally different buying an AMG. lclc01 well the motor is actually a 6.0 which helps, plus a muffler delete with AMG tips

Was this 6.0 amg v8 used in any other models?

I’ve just measured the stroke on two early 90s 500SL engine blocks and the stoke is 100mm so your figures are wrong for confirming whether the stroke of an engine is a 6.0 instead of 5.0. Your car does look like a real 500SL 6.0 AMG though with the correct AMG rear spoiler indented badge. AMG sticker by the gear stick and correct AMG speedometer reading to 300 km/h instead the 260 km/h of the normal 500SL. There are lots of fake 500SL 6.0 AMGs as you said. The car was so good that Mercedes bought AMG!

The bore is 100mm on the 6.0 cars. Still, the stroke is 85mm for a 5.0 and 95mm for a 6.0 M119. 94.9 if we're getting technical. Also, authentic AMG ducktail spoilers came both indented with the AMG emblem and without. Thanks for the comment!

I'm from southern germany near Affalterbach and Zuffenhausen and know Porsche and Mercedes much better than for example Audi and BMW. With the R129, if the speedometer has 300kph (180mph) instead of 260kph, might be a sign for the 6.0 but I recommend always to check via the VIN and AMG in Affalterbach. Just send them an E-mail with the VIN.

May i ask The 'Market Value' of this car today? Also, when people advertise a 500SL. (1991 )....with an AMG 'Package'...what does that mean??.....Cheers from Canada...

Amg "package" probably refers to the sport package which was offerd with the cars, its a AMG bodykit. Gen 1 from 89-94 and gen 2 from 95-02. So its not AMG tuned however, those are rare

You can find the stamp on the engine .. if you look directly trough engine and the gear box... if you find the hard stamped initials with starts M119.. than it is a real Amg engine anything else is a story telling .. 😉

great to see r129's getting really popular, such fun cars, but sorry to say, fukk 'em! R230's minus the ABC are better, later years like mine also do not have ABC problems.

I’d say those engine stickers are perfectly correct. Big white one says 119.960 which is for the correct base m119 5 liter KE. Black/silver AMG badge saying 280kW - Matches too. Later ones would have less kW and “LH” printed on
