I remember driving to these militaria shows as a kid with my dad. Tired and bored, I had to help him unload the van, set up and alternatively playing "gofer" and "table guardian". Ironic that now, decades later and after his passing, I wish I could experience one of those times just once more.
I went to the show of show in Kentucky a few months before everything was shut down due to the virus it was a good militaria/ gun show my only problem are the boomer vendors and their over valued stuff I heard a couple of them complaining "that no one is buying anything"

SOS is hit or miss, great items but very expensive. You just have to know who to talk to and where to look. For example, I found a Vietnam-dated helmet with a dated cover, liner, and a WWII shell for $40 (The Liner was also painted and named in several places) and a '68 dated Royal Australia Regiment slouch hat at the SOS back in the summer. One of the biggest tips I will remember for the next show in February is to stick around for the last few hours on Sunday. I saw a lot of vendors panicking and trying to sell everything for a major markdown. I do agree that the pricing is a little abnormal. I saw a few Rhodesian pieces that should have been around 100-200 but the people were selling them for 400+. Either A. they overvalue their items and refuse to let go of them or B. they're just trying to rip you off.

I’m not sure calling them “boomer vendors with overvalued stuff” is helpful. That hints to a bitterness that could blur your vision and make you appear unfriendly or unapproachable. For example, if a dealer thinks, “This punk millennial feels entitled to everything I have for cheap.” He’s not likely to be one to help out a younger collector which is the best of both worlds. Maybe you could be perceived as impatient in the hobby and want to have it all immediately when they have collected for decades? It helps to put yourself in their shoes as they have likely already been in yours. So, see? Not a very helpful way to analyze the pricing of militaria. OTOH, to your point, I have always sensed a “good ole boys club” mentality or maybe an “us against them” mentality with many vendors where your knowledge is assumed much less than theirs. I think that is from years of club affiliations and friendships among those they trust and trade with. Shows are then when they are together “against” buyers they don’t know. There is a point where the patience, playing games, etc. just won’t be worth it anymore to younger generations. That, all of us collectors must understand.

The "I know what i got sonny" type. what they got is dementia lmao
There's a lot of good stuff at the MAX show...and a lot that isn't, too. A lot of things there are genuine, and then again, there are no shortage of fakes and forgeries as well, as well as outright fantasy items as well, so shop smart and be cautious with you purchases. Especially TR stuff, there are some VERY eye-opening videos about this on YT.

Yep military review is a good start for high end fakes and the U.K channel military Collectables is also informative for general ww2 German ,but everyone will get stiffed at one point or another that's the nature of the hobby.
Did they have Hitler's Canoe?

Nice! This is a good way for me to go bankrupt, lmao. I wish there was shows like this where i live... Hopefully one day.
Monroeville site was far superior for many reasons. As per several vendors and collectors.
Love it! Love Gettysburg! Can't wait for your next video
Could you do more of these show reviews? I live in NC and would like to know if there are shows in the NC, SC, VA and TN areas.
Great summary. It was a pretty good show.

Fire service/EMS uniforms would be a very cool little diversionary topic from the usual militaria, although there may not be nearly as much variety.
DId you guys happen to pick anything up?

As a hint, try starting the name as if you’re saying the English word “lie” rather than “lee”
Watch out for the fakes
Don't forget to buy "nazis toilet paper"
