The Matrix Timeline Finally Explained

Ойын-сауық

The Matrix was a huge hit with audiences when it first came out in 1999, both for its groundbreaking, special-effects-laden action sequences and for its themes about reality and free will.
Ultimately, the two sequels only served to make the lore of the franchise extremely complicated, but we’ve been able to put the timelines of the films, the cartoons, and every other Matrix property in order so you can get a full picture of the franchise’s story.
From how it all started to a look into the far future, let’s take a look at the Matrix’s timeline, finally explained.

    Yeah it is. It's immensely tragic with the demise of Humanity. What's really sad is it's all happening in real life. Either we'll have a Terminator or Matrix scenario play out once we have at least one Artificial General Intelligence on Earth. We're almost there now that we have quantum computing available on Earth.

Except they didn’t die and came back to whoop our ass hopefully if something like this happens humans will be smart enough to allow them to live peacefully. They could’ve contributed to space exploration and being earth back to its glory days but instead they made an enemy out of something they KNEW would destroy them straight up stupidity at its finest.

    Correction: The programming of The One is for the Machines/Architect to solve a particular issue within the Matrix. The first issue was Happiness, but people were so happy that they realized that it was impossible to be that level of happiness. So when The 1st One reached the Main Source, the Machines thought being too happy was the problem. So, after the first massive failure, the Machines/Architect gave humans total misery and that didn't work out either. For the same reasons, it was impossible to be that miserable in the world it was a complete nightmare. The 2nd One returned to the same and indicated that total misery wasn't the solution either. After that the Oracle found a solution via choice but not trival choice but the issue that was always being encountered that some people would see/feel things (anomalies in the matrix) and those people who became aware that they were in the Matrix. That's what made people become a "Red Pill", they knew that something was wrong; deep down in the world around them. But, Neo the 6th One the problem that the machines were trying to solve was Love for Humanity versus Love for a person. The previous Ones 3,4 and 5 kept choosing Love for Humanity versus Love for one person. This is what makes the difference in the end. The sixth One chooses his personal Love (Trinity) instead of saving the Whole World which is important. The Architect specifically points this out every previous One always chooses to save people for Zion instead of saving the person they love. Love was the big issue as seen when the two programs use the Merovingian to get Sati into the Matrix because she doesn't have a purpose. Love doesn't have a real purpose or so the Machines think that.

    Please don't compare the brilliance that is the matrix trilogy to marvel. Marvel movies don't delve into the philosophy of mind or freedom of choice, ever. The matrix films are well written and way ahead of their time, and the creators really poured their hearts into them; most marvel movies are produced simply because they will make lots of money from the comic book fans, hence why the screenwriters make every effort to generate quips for each character.

    Wrong. According to this video, the hostilities between humans and machines started in 2199. It was never really revealed what the current year would be according to our understanding of time. The video said the events of the Matrix and Neo happened roughly 600 years after the machine war. So that would make the current year in the story closer to 2799, 2800, or maybe 3000. Everything makes sense now.

    why did the agents attack neo in the matrix if the machines need him to reboot the matrix?

  • @DeadwardGrimm13

    @DeadwardGrimm13

    4 жыл бұрын

    The agents were programmed to detect anomalies in the Matrix code, which Neo initially would have been flagged as. The difference in this cycle of the Matrix is that Smith was starting to deviate from his programming, and seems to have either wanted the code for the One for himself, or for the system to not get it and see what happens. It could also be theorized that the agents hunting The One helps to activate that code, so that the Matrix can reboot itself. If you think about it, Neo doesn't really understand his abilities and embrace being the one until the danger Morpheus is in, and he gets a huge uptick in ability after his initial death. If the agents hadn't been hunting him and providing that threat, he may never have become what the system needed him to be.

    To add my two cents; so just like Neo had his part to play, so did the Agents. It’s the interesting point that the franchise brings up, the paradoxical nature of free will and predestination. You could say on one hand that the franchise was way ahead of its time in terms of subject matter, but on the other hand, it’s really a re-telling of much older esoteric principles.
