I respect the attempt, effort, and visuals. But Matrix 4 felt like a 20 year wait for a big budget fan made film that just happen to get Keanu and Carrie Anne on board.

The movie had its moments of stupidity, but overall, it wasn’t that bad. I also feel like this was a missed opportunity. They should’ve done prequels. They should’ve done older versions of the matrix, then let that lead to how the war started.

They already did 20 years ago, it was called The Animatrix. Explained top to bottom the machine city, how the war started and why humans were underground. Unless you mean prequels like previous anomalies before Neo

This movie made us realize that the real stars of the Matrix Franchise are the stunt people, costume and set designers, and most of all Yuen Woo Ping. Yes, Keanu and Carrie are awesome. But without the original crew, even Lana Wachowski could not make them shine in this poorly-conceived sequel. This movie does not have an ounce of the coolness that the original trilogy brought. Remember the time when everybody wanted to dress up in trench coats and catsuits? They could not even get the fashion correctly. Most of all, I hated the fights. It was dull, very uninspired, and even though it was essentially copy-catting the original it still sucked.

@@daegnaxqelil2733My thoughts are that Smith now knows he can't exist and can't be free without Neo also being alive and free, as the events of the original trilogy have intertwined their "codes" within the Matrix. At this point his anger is fully towards the Analyst - he knows Neo isn't fully back to full strength yet and that he could easily kill him now if he wanted. This was an attempt to hasten Neo's re-awakening in order to help his own cause, and once both are back to full strength he can destroy the Analyst and the other machines that are responsible for the current cycle. But that doesn't mean he likes Neo, he's only willing to co-operate when their interests align. It's still self-interest and self-preservation that drives him.

That's the one big problem I have with this movie: the fight choreography and camera work is a shadow of its former self. If it was the same quality here as it was in the previous films, this movie would've been much better received.

If you are a spiritual person you are not going to hate the concept of this movie. Most likely you will dislike the plot and action scenes but I think the main idea was pretty cool. I like the idea that Neo and Trinity are united and are both the one. I just wish the movie was bigger, the action, sets and costumes were better. I also don’t like the idea of them mocking the movies and the studios. I don’t like when movies try to connect with the real world (our world).

Horrible slow and sloppy fighting... the matrix trilogy had far better choreography far more fluid like a computer.. they just scrapped 90% of the fighting and replaced it with a damn force push/ hadoukan/ kamehameha

Just reboot the series with a new cast. Reeves is too old and bringing back all the legacy characters is dumb. The story has been told. Time to start a new adventure.

Drivel. sycophantic, self destructive tripe of the highest order. A lesson in how not to make a sequel but also one in how to purposefully end (or an attempt to end) a beloved franchise before it is further dragged through the mud by greedy, corporate big wigs who have to drain every successful idea till there's nothing left to drain. I hate everything this movie stands for.
