“Flexing the Matrix”. A great phrasing. In hacker lingo he has now rooted this system, and has full control over it. Anything happening inside the Matrix is now at his leasure. For a very short while, until we go back to backups, and patch.

Best reaction out there! You immediately seem like a real fan. I saw this in the theaters with Dolby DTS sound when it first came out and was absolutely blown away. It was a step change above any other action/scifi movie before. Love to see you younger guys appreciate it for its greatness. If you haven't seen Terminator 2 or True Lies, give them a look!

the irony of morpheus saying it was closer to 2199, implying that it's perhaps not all too far in the future, is that given that this was revealed to be the fifth gen of the matrix and the fifth population of zion, the actual year is actually definitely closer to 12 000.

U chuckled at the fact that the oracle is living in a small apartment, but that is usually the case with "prophets"(or any other enlightened), they can be anywhere, as Simon and Garfunkel sang in a song: "The words of the prophets are written on subway walls and tenement halls", they are just usually the ones thinking outside the box to a degree that the ordinary joe doesn't so they are labeled "crazy" instead 🙂 The fake prophets and Gurus look and act the way their customers are expecting them to look and act It is true that humans define their happiness through misery, we humans always need a reference point for everything, even happiness.. we need the bad days to be able to understand how good days are, and with too many good days in a row we get bored and anxious

I am not going to go through all the comments to see if this has been said already. Now you have seen The Matrix, to Understand the back story of how, why and when the Matrix was created, you *NEED* to watch an animated series, "Animatrix", More specifically, The Second Renaissance Part 1 and 2. While animated, it details the FULL history of how, and why The Matrix exists. The animated series was also created by The Wachowski Brothers (Now Sisters).

Good insights... yeah... that's because he's seen it before. There's no way he makes all these correct predictions throughout the reaction without having seen it before. Like so many reactors out there, he's trying to pretend he hasn't seen it, but there's about a half dozen points in this 'reaction' that totally give it away. If he'd got two or three things right, that would have been better than average. But he called just about every major plot point. In this film, that's impossible.

great reaction and aftermath thoughts! despite the huge impact on movie culture, The Matrix did not invent the concept of living in a futuristic cyberpunk simulation. That title goes to Ghost in the Shell, which was initially a japanese Manga from the 80s and later on a full Anime Movie from 1995, which basically set the whole idea and tone for the Matrix. Its producers have been heavily influenced and inspirted by Ghost in the Shell: Green coding in the opening scene, head jacks in the back of the neck, woman in tight clothing...the list goes on. They made their own variation and style for the Matrix which is still a huge achievement. But I also recommend to check out Ghost in the Shell, which is a highly philosophical and one of the most intelligent movies I ever saw. The plot follows Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg public security agent, who hunts a mysterious hacker known as the Puppet Master, who hacks into other peoples minds, create fake memories and force them to do things he wants them to do. The chase makes Motoko questioning her own identity, doubting whether her thoughts are even her own or artificial signals in her brain and the movie goes on to explore the definition of what makes people human.

Ok, just to say, you kept calling the loading programs, and the construct as The Matrix. Effectively, they are just part of their own computer system, and not really part of the Matrix. Morpheus wasn't freed by the first of them, that was long before in an earlier incarnation of The Matrix. Lastly, I just want to say, your editing is a bit weird, cutting off the ends of important sentences so that people lose the idea and a plot. When Morpheus was saying that computers have rules - you then cut off the end when he says that some of them can be bent and some of them can be broken. However, having said all that, it was a good reaction.

2 Timothy 2:26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. If you are not converted from the Matrix, the devil can take you captive at his will. Just like an agent takes over a human in the movie.

"Whoa!" Honestly, the immediate sequels are bad. Granted two and three are very much action-pack, but they are thematically inconsistent in every way to this movie. However the fourth movie makes them masterpieces in comparison. The fourth one is boring, intellectually stupid, and has no value whatsoever. Fun Fact: After the lobby shoot-out, the camera pans back, showing the aftermath of the gunfight. A moment passes, and a large chunk of one of the pillars falls off. This was not planned, but was left in for effect. Just Put Ice On It Fact: Carrie-Anne Moss twisted her ankle while shooting one of her scenes, but decided not to tell anyone until after filming, so they wouldn't re-cast her. Mythology Fact: In Greek mythology, Morpheus is the god of dreams. This is ironic, considering Morpheus' role in the film is to "awaken" people from their "dream states" within the Matrix.

Such a weak take on the sequels. Don't feel too bad though. You're one of the many cliche fandom stereotypes who gets upset because they don't like something so they feel the need to trash them to other fans when in reality it just sucks for you and you alone. Not liking a movie is nothing but a personal problem. Sorry you didn't get to appreciate all the movies and the universe for what they are. They're all great. Sucks to suck. 🙃

Neo is not the hero. He makes a selfish decision and dooms humanity. Side note: there is a movie in between this one and the Matrix Reloaded, it’s called THE ANIMATRIX. It explains a lot
