I loved the Performance MX!!!! I bought it in High school with birthday money, and now I have the G502, while the MX has passed on to my dad (he'd been using a Magic Mouse on his mac. Nuff said.)

Using the MX Master as well and probably won't replace it until it breaks. Had a G7 with Carbon look before that which sadly broke down after many years off use. If it wouldn't have broken, I'd probably still be using that one.

@@hankschrader2353 No, I don't think so. My last logitech did, I thought it was a fault, and felt like such a fool when customer support told me it's meant to, the wheel on that model (M510) pushes left and right to scroll the screen that way.

I have an MX Master which I used for about a year. I built a new PC, and wanted a dedicated mouse and keyboard that was at least as good as my G610 and MX Master 2S for the new PC. I did have some connectivity issues with the new 2S, figured it out, and am quite impressed in how they improved a mouse that I thought needed no improvement. Very nice device.

I love my old Performance Mouse MX, i still keep it in the drawer somewhere, it really is an amazing mouse. I used it for more than 5 years as a daily driver and would occasionally take it to work. Few months ago, I replaced it with the MX Master (1st gen) in Navy Blue and i love it. I don't use side scroll, though, but the software is so versatile so I might find another use for it except side scroll. And, yes, I agree with the battery percentage in the software, I would love to see Logitech implement that in one of the next updates.

Had the Performance MX myself. While some of the extra buttons are missed, I've figured out over time my hands and wrists find a shorter flat mouse more comfortable. The MX's metallic accent finish detoriated heavily also over a period of two years. A simple and cheap Microsoft Designer Mouse now meets my comfortable productivity and casual gaming needs.

omg! a fellow Performance MX user! I just recently retired one still-working Performance MX for a gaming mouse, but it was purely for completion intents. The darn mouse was great in every aspect and I used to game with it. I think my first unit is around 4+ years old now and the battery still works and hold a very decent charge. I have a secondary unit with my laptop and I might bring my recommission my old unit to my workplace because it is that good. This one may be around 3+ years old.

I've been using the MX Master 1 for about a year now with my work computer and it's great. I can't say that the battery life is a full month, but I would believe it. I definitely don't charge it once a month. I don't use flow, the big sellers for me were egro and the thumb wheel since I work with lots of large databases and spreadsheets.

Bought an Performance MX mouse in early 2009. A decade later it saw me through the end of high school, all of college, and 4 years of working 40-60+ hours a week. I've worn most of the pads off the bottom but it still holds a charge on the original Eneloop battery to the point where I might charge it every other week or so. Most of the chrome is now shiny or dull black with just a hint of chrome on the top. Maybe one of these days I'll replace it with a new Performance MX.

I recently had the MX master. I liked the software that comes with it where you can setup loads of custom commands that can rival the gestures I know and love from my Macbook Pro. I also like the look of the mouse as well it fits to my idea of what hardware for a content creator should look like. I ended up returning the mouse because of quite a lot of lag everytime the computer thinks about a task. This occurred both on my hackintosh as well as on my iMac at school. I didn't care for the ergonomics of the mouse either. The mouse is too high and therefore gave me wrist fatigue especially scrolling was very awkward. The build quality was alright but not fantastic.

I still have and use every day my Performance MX. It was a gift for my birthday of 2010 or 2011, I can't remember. I had to change a micro-switch because the left click button was mis-clicking sometimes. I love the ergonomics and the weight. The Mionix mices have been very tempting...but can't justify putting money to change a device that I love and is pretty much perfect to my grip.

Have both the Performance MX and the MX Master. The PMX is my daily driver (4 years and going strong) as the ergonomics are better for all day use (for me anyway). The MXM is used when doing really intense work across multiple windows/browsers/spreadsheets - makes it really easy to navigate between them. The MXM is also used when travelling - the Bluetooth connection leaves me with an additional USB port free on the laptop. Both are excellent though, but I don't think I'll be updating to the 2S until one of mine dies. Thanks for a comprehensive review.

I love my original mx master. Ive had it for about a year and I definitely don't regret the purchase. I actually do have to use two mice on my desk though (ive got a razer death adder) because the tracking and weight are not that good for gaming, but for literally everything else I prefer the mx master. The wireless connection is SUPER fast, the hot switch button works amazingly between all my devices, the thing is much more comfortable then any other mouse, its amazingly built, the scroll wheel is awesome, etc.

Performance MX user here. Still loving the overall feel and heft of it, even though the glide pads (on my model at least) are just a tad too slim for any but the firmest mouse pads. The real shame is that Logitech won't offer a direct successor; for my type of workload, easily accessible buttons are much preferable to the video editing-focussed scroll wheel thingie. I have the thumb rest button mapped to change DPI for high precision tasks in some tools or to a simple quick-save command in others. Not looking forward to the day I'll have to replace this beauty.

I currently use the performance MX for everyday use and gaming. Although people have said that it isn't a great gaming mouse, I love it. The only problem I have with it is the tracking on certain surfaces. I have a glossy white metal desk and it cannot track on that. Furthermore, it has tracking problems when there is crumbs and dust on my mousepad, but other than that, it's a great mouse.

One thing I hate about my MX Master 2S is the fact that the mouse has already gotten glossy after 6 months use. They decided to use ABS plastic instead of PBT which takes a lot longer to shine. Another issue I have on mine is the fact that I can't set any custom macro's on the buttons, you are stuck with using only the small amount of actions they allow you to work with.

I still have my Performance Mouse MX. I absolutely loved it, however the left switch started acting up as they are prone to do, and out of warranty. I replaced it myself but lost the tiny springs for the middle mouse button, so while the mouse works, not having MMB is pretty not great, so I don't really use it anymore, even though it still sits on my desk behind the monitor. When it did work properly, it was great for everyday use. It was very comfortable to hold and the scroll wheel was awesome. Unlike the MX Revoution, it's battery is a removable AA battery that can be recharged in the mouse by plugging in the USB cable. The battery had a long life and a handy charge meter, and the mouse could still be used while charging. It wasn't great for demanding games though, and I missed the second scroller wheel the MX Revolution has. I almost bought the MX Master, but elected to get a G502 which has been great for both everyday use and gaming. Still want one at some point though.

One would expect that, in such a long video, you'd go into important details about the mouse. I just got the MX Master 2S to replace my now half-dead Performance, but the lack of horizontal navigation (left/right push) from the vertical scroll button is a total deal-breaker. The noise made by the main buttons when clicked is also significantly louder than the Performance MX. Finally, you can kind of of learn how to live with the horrible position of the forward/back buttons, but I'd rather have them in the original position and ditch the horizontal scroll. It seems like the Anywhere 2S would be the right choice for me (despite de much smaller size), but then they've decide to make the clickable scroll a non-button (yet another very important detail not mentioned in your video).

Still have an MX Performance, using it right now deciding on getting an MX Master S2. The MX Performance has been a really nice mouse love the rechargeable battery Great video, very informative...nice keyboard...love the "Light Show". I just watched 5 video reviews on this mouse and they all start with "Hey wazzup guys" Really...really? Is this guy the only articulate Millennial out there?

I have a Logitech Performance MX, Great mouse, only issue so far, I have a double click "new feature". But after 4 years using it intensively for work and gaming, it was a fair companion.

Oh yes, I owned the Performance MX way back in college for graphic design work and it was awesome. Hours and hours spent in Illustrator and Minecraft alike. I have long but skinny hands and it was ergonomic and comfortable to use. The placement of buttons was intuitive. I very much enjoyed my time with it. (I now use a wired Logitech G500S)

@@englishwithaltini There wasn't much I didn't like about that mouse. The battery was rechargeable but removable without taking the whole thing apart. That said, one thing I don't like about Logitech is that they seem to use "middle shelf" switches. They don't seem to last as long as they should. I had to open them mouse up and replace one of the physical switches because the old one wore out. It involved removing and readding solder and not something I'd recommend for the average person.

I still use the Performance MX as my daily driver. Been through a few over the many years since I wear them out. I like how it fits in my hand. My biggest gripe is the crappy Sanyo Enloop battery in it. I have to charge it up every day. Even when it was brand new, it would only go 2 days between charges.

Hey Lance! I have been using the Performance for many years - For God's sake mate, go out and purchase ANY new NiMH rechargeable AA battery - they all work! Cheers!

I have something to say about the point at 5:00 regarding the MX Master 2S being less responsive and accurate compared to the G403. From my personal experience of having both the G403 wireless and first MX Master, I felt that the issue with it was due to the low polling rate of 125hz on the MX Master. I would wish that Logitech implemented a 1000hz polling rate on the MX master like what they did on the G403.

I have two Performance MX. Had them for about 5 years. Bought one for home and decided I wanted one at work too. Only problem is I find they are pretty bad at scrolling on Chrome, even with the Chrome plugin. I'll probably buy an MX Master sometime down the road. Maybe when one of these stops working.

I like the new MX Master, but maybe it's time for Logitech to update K810 keyboard aswell? It was realeased in 2012 (!) and not updated since then. BTW- great review as always! :)

i just hope they fixed the scroll wheel issue. Smartshift would make it stuck inbetween modes, making it very annoying to use. Mine got stuck after 2 hours of usage, maybe it's bad luck on my end or something, but it has remained stuck for the whole time i owned it. If they didn't fix this issue, i would suggest disabling the smartshift option and using to dedicated button to switch between modes to prevent the wheel from getting stuck.

Is the difference in sensor quality and refresh rate between the mx master 2s and the G502 noticable in productivity applications? And are there any other mice that automatically switch to smooth scrolling?

I LOVE my MX Master at work, as a software developer, but couldn't justify one at home due to the DPI limitations. Now I think I will have one for home!

I don't own the Wireless Performance MX - I own the wired version of it. It was (arguably still is) a kick butt mouse. I recently changed to the G502 (but I'm not letting my Performance MX go) - it does suit my use (esp when gaming) better. I've kept the laser mouse for back up. I'm very happy with both.
