Ida Lupino was so far ahead of her time, she was a excellent director. She directed several episodes of Have Gun,Will Travel and they were each outstanding episodes. The Masks is one of my favorite TZ and the ending is perfect.

I have an idea about why the old man didn't have his face morphed from the mask; instead, death was the curse from the skull mask, after all he does die at midnight.

I found out recently the actor playing the dying father Robert Keith is the father of actor Brian Keith. Love this episode and Serlings intros and outro's are like the best English teacher you ever had

I saw this for the first time when I was a kid in the 60s and it scared the life out of but ended up being one of my favourites. ❤

Another one in my Top Five. I love the ironic endings of The Twilight Zone and nobody could write them better than Rod Serling. We lost him way too early at only 50 years old.

i HIGHLY advise checking out the radio version of this episode it adds to the masks by not only affecting their appearance but how they act essentially taking their unlikable traits and amplifying them which doesn't change after the twist.

Another absolutely fantastic episode review my friend! I just love the deeper meanings of this episode. People may act so kind and supportive, but they always have an ulterior motive for their selfishness and greed. The irony is that masks are meant to conceal identities, but the masks in this episode reveals their true nature.

Creepy for sure man.. Nice review. Another added to the must watch list. Netflix cut TZ a while back so I have to find another way to watch these. Again... Great review

Feels good to be back home and to catch up on videos. Yours always put me in the best moods even though the subject matter may not be so chill, lol. This episode is reminding me of Knives Out. Greed can be so very ugly.

This is one of my favorite episodes. Marvelous set up and I love stories where characters get to take revenge and they don't have to answer to any outside law for it. And I love Ida's involvement in it.

This is one of the creepiest (and wonderful) episodes you’ve covered yet. I absolutely loved it!

Always a treat to see that you have uploaded another TZ ep review. You do such a skillful and clever job at putting together your videos. As for this particular episode, I think most people like it better than I. It's not bad, but the buildup takes quite a long time before the payoff, I felt. Still, a good and creepy message. I actually really like how Serling didn't flinch from bringing out the unflattering truth about our dark interior. 3.5/5 for me.

I think Lupino should have done more work in horror because this one really hits the mark. I guessed the ending, but it was still a shocker. This is one of those punishments worse than death. I don't think Foster was any nicer than the rest of his family by doing this. Maybe the real horror was when they found out he had actually given all his money to charity instead of them!

Very unsettling episode when I saw it in 1964 at 14 years old. This and " Eye of the Beholder, " had bizarre makeup that was chilling at the time. A good example of beauty goes skin deep but ugly goes right to the bone.

Nice job! Very creepy plot twist for sure. It does reflect how some people get about money and inheritances.. so ugly. I like your connections with Mardi Gras as well. Nice editing too. Great review as always Anthony! Cheers my friend 👊

Another good examination, Mr. Dreamland! You mention Serling's abilities. There is a reason the intro has become iconic and that is Rod's writing. "...it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. " what a line!

Buddy I remember this one and love the message here that what is inside a person eventually comes out. And as far as the theme of greed, I've known several families torn apart over inheritance issues. Another great review my friend!
