The Marxist Roots of DEI - Session 2: Diversity | James Lindsay

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives have taken over the country, reaching into every aspect of our work, school, and lives. What is "DEI," though? New Discourses founder James Lindsay explains the idea and its history in unprecedented depth in this new series from an in-person workshop in Miami, Florida, breaking down each of the three letters in detail. What we'll find is that it's a contemporary and managerial repackaging of socialism.
In this second episode of the series, following from his discussion of equity as (expanded) socialism, Lindsay articulates that "Diversity" initiatives are rooted in the goal of installing ideologically consistent political officers within organizations to effect and enforce policies directed toward achieving equity. These political officers, often called "Diversity Officers," are in fact a rebranding of the older concept of commissars, who enforced socialism in the same way. Understanding Diversity in this regard is relatively easy, but how did we get here in America? The answer is bad judicial interpretation of Civil Rights laws that center "disparate impact" rather than intention as evidence of discrimination. Join James Lindsay as he walks you through the history and philosophy of the Diversity scam.

The premise for diversity was that it would bring different points of view. But the current diversity efforts are that everyone should look different but believe the exact same thing. Diversity is not a tenet. It's a tactic.

The only good thinkI can think of, is what ever Social credit system they put in place, it is not going to last long. Your just not going to have the compentance or motivation to keep it running, and it will be at the level where even A.I. will not be able to help. It may run for a Decade or two but it will fall apart like everything else. Altas will indeed shrug.

The head of DEI at my work admitted that many of the initiatives they want are illegal in many countries were we have offices but they'll do their best to implement and work around these laws as best they can. This is for a global company in a public talk. Another interesting point, Forbes has an article about how white men feel left behind. So they interviewed a head or DEI at a company who admitted that white men are skipped in order to choose minorities. Then the person went on to say how this is for the greater good and it's all about how white men choose to look at it. If they continue to be upset then the solution is maintain an empathic ear but not to make any changes.

Most left-leaning people do advocate for diversity of thought. One avenue to achieve diversity of thought is through cultural diversity. Another is through diversity of background. Gender diversity, ethnic diversity and such can play into this as well. I assure you if you go outside, talk to real people and experience the real world, none of this doom-and-gloom, end of the world, Leftists-are-stealing-my-babies nonsense matters.

And "sexual minorities" - whatever, exactly that means. This is how they capture and destroy language. Normal people hear "diversity" and think variety of thought/views. They use it to mean "everyone must think the same, but look different." But since non-commies don't think that way, everything gets all mixed up. You're talking past each other. By the time you realize they are using words differently than the standard way everyone else was used to using them, they've changed things or inserted themselves into a workplace, school, or other community and have changed a bunch of stuff and made things worse. Then, it's hard to undo it. You have to hand it to them. They do have some brilliant strategies.

Regarding the first clause, a response, also quotations: _“I am Ra. That which is infinite cannot be many, for many-ness is a finite concept. To have infinity you must identify or define that infinity as unity; otherwise, the term does not have any referent or meaning. In an Infinite Creator there is only unity._ _You have seen simple examples of unity. You have seen the prism which shows all colors stemming from the sunlight. This is a simplistic example of unity._ _In truth there is no right or wrong. There is no polarity for all will be, as you would say, reconciled at some point in your dance through the mind/body/spirit complex which you amuse yourself by distorting in various ways at this time. This distortion is not in any case necessary. It is chosen by each of you as an alternative to understanding the complete unity of thought which binds all things. You are not speaking of similar or somewhat like entities or things. You are every thing, every being, every emotion, every event, every situation. You are unity. You are infinity. You are love/light, light/love. You are. This is the Law of One."_ _"I am Ra. The Law of One -- though beyond the limitations of name, as you call vibratory sound complexes -- may be approximated by stating that all things are One, that there is NO polarity, NO right or wrong, NO disharmony, but only Identity. All is One, and that One is love/light, light/love -- the Infinite Creator.”_ "Questioner: I believe we have a very, very important point here. It then seems that there is an extreme potential in this polarization the same as there is in- to make an analogy, using electricity: We have a positive and negative pole. The more you build the charge on either of these, the greater the potential difference, and, the greater the ability to do work, as we call it, in the physical. This would seem to me to be the exact analogy that we have in consciousness here. Is this correct? _Ra: I am Ra. This is precisely correct._ Ra Material (1981) _"They supposed Hesiod, teacher to the many, to possess for himself great knowledge, yet he didn't understand (even) the difference between night and day -- for the two are one."_ Heraclitus (6th century BCE)

Arguably the most important sessions on DEI currently available. Invest the time and these lectures will spark your brain as they bring the individual concepts of DEI together, and reveal the interdependencies with ESG. It turns the ideology upside down and inside out to show its origins and it's true objectives. James is doing for DEI what Jordan Peterson has done for identity politics, and demonstrates how one interweaves with the other. Essential viewing for getting a handle on just one dimension of the myriad of neo-Marxist strategies being implemented across the western world under the guise of "social justice" and humanitarianism.

You have a gift for making the complex very simple. Thank you for sounding the alarm that essentially this is a continuation of the Marxist revolution in the west with altered terminology. It is another attempt like those of the 20th century to create a utopian ideal that is headed in the exact same direction, which is amazing considering how alert we used to be to the encroachment of this ideology.

Wow this was a great lecture, I don't even know if I'm following in order but this is my third vid. In the case of the story of the Black guy intentionally making mistakes on his work and getting a pass; while I agree on the take of it creating an imposter syndrome of sorts, and stunting his potential to be great - this example highlights my underlying feelings about "DEI" and all of its facets. Personally, I think it is a device to keep people oppressed and making them ignorant by playing on emotions. I also think it is an actual dog whistle to a certain class of people (race has nothing to do with it) to regard other classes as inferior. This whole diversity discourse is a way of revamping those "old days" and "old ways" (ifykwim), sadly when folks realize they're actually repeating the history of their "ancestors" as we love to say, it just might be too late. History doesn't repeat itself, but it sure as hell rhymes.

The transition from color-blindness to multiculturalism was a sure thing to happen. They always start from something easy, apparently nice, and maybe even attractive. Yet from the very beginning that "color-blindness" was a pretty stoopid thing, requiring everyone to ignore absolutely obvious differences like e.g. the skin color. How are you going to spot differences and correct aggregated problems if you're conditioned to ignore them? Now, The Revolution made another step forward and the wisdom of this stage is to start seeing colors again... that is just return to seeing! But not before the initial stage has done its job and depleted its transformational potential. You were absolutely convinced you've done good, were good and moral, and most probably trod into dust everyone who refused to just stop seeing, and you've called such persons "racist"... while neo-Marxist laughed their a*ses off observing you from behind the facade. That denial of "color-blindness" is actually a good thing in itself, but the problem is to understand, that you now meet these neo-Marxists on a crossroad of a trail, which you cross in a direction you thought is correct, let's say right->left, while they were obviously leading the race, already made an entire loop, and you meet them running up->down and demanding that you turn with them, because there's no point for you to do that loop anymore. The same happens with the concept of a revolutionary republican state, which they've build on and from the blood of "tyrants" and Reactionaries to emancipate "citizens" and abolish "autocracy", while now they demand all these still pretty fresh nations and states to be abolished for a greater goods of The One World State. Hopefully you'll learn something from this - STOP listening to and following the Fg Marxists! STOP The Revolution!!

I retired from a large Police Service in Ontario. "They" had infiltrated every influential position and appointed radical scary members, from alleged marginalized groups and mainly LGBTQ to "Commisar" type positions they created...(ie) DEI Coordinator and Manager Talent Acquisition and then Human Resources Training & Change Director. The corruption and obvious stacking of the unqualified into trusted and key admin and investigative positions was difficult to see. They destroyed that service and no longer prioritized " catching the bad guys" over fake virtue signalling agendas. Crime is spiking up now. 😡

Why do they think that emphasizing people's identity will make things better instead of worse? After all those years of telling us the exact opposite. I'm gay and this is the absolute worst time in my life. It didn't used to matter to people, and it just was never an important thing. But now it's the ONLY thing. It just makes all your interactions with other people really phony and artificial. It's like your life has become a play that you're performing in instead of real life. Like you're just playing a part. People now expect me to say certain things and act a certain way, which never happened before all this identity crap. I'm expected to have certain beliefs that I don't really have, where I used to be able to just be myself and it's something I never had to think about before. It's crazy what's going on now. It's a real step backwards.

Great job James. I admire your ability to process info quickly and present it with precision. Unfortunately, the masses are not going to listen to this, only those who are willing to drive themselves mentally to grasp our current situation and to try to understand why things are unfolding the way they are. It is going to take courage and wisdom from those of us who are awake (not woke) to speak up to those who are mired in this poisonous DEI mindset and to get them to reevaluate what they are thinking and why they are thinking the way they are. People who are mired in bondage and thinking they're free must be lovingly and peacefully confronted with the alternative of what true freedom is and that there is a Biblical God who is greater than all of us and who has given us a written document that grants true freedom to all of mankind regardless of race. Communism is clearly the antithesis to both.

Here's what I say to any person making the diversity=strength argument. Suppose you're in the hospital ER needing life-saving surgery. The surgeon comes in and is a black female, let's say. "Are you not thinking, even for one fleeting instant, wondering whether she was hired for competence or to fill racial quotas?" Anyone who says that doesn't even occur to them is LYING! You could say the same thing to a person next to you on an airplane. Make it real. Put it to people in terms they can understand. Sometimes you have to scare the shit out of people to make them realize things like this. If it can work for the left in climate change, it can work here too.

I really, REALLY appreciate the work of James Lindsay on this. This is the best exposition I've seen of this movement. Speaking as a Christian I have to say that the primary thing that has always captivated me about CRT is its total moral bankruptcy. This and other movements have been counting on a certain kind of goodwill that exists in the West that sees the individual as uniquely valuable and dignified, and it is this goodwill that sucks people into it. People are vulnerable to CRT doctrine precisely BECAUSE they want to be good toward others. But the false teachers of CRT offer no moral epistemology OR ontology and are generally in opposition to the Christian worldview that provides BOTH of these as the soil in which they sow this poison. I know James is not a Christian, but his treatment of this subject is extremly delicate and fair toward the Christian critique of CRT.

1:18:18 “Family has to be abolished … replaced by the institution.” Seems like this is being accomplished before our eyes through several means: abortion, cultural messaging “follow your heart”, “live your best life” it’s a life focused on self-fulfillment and cost. It costs a lot of money to raise kids and if the younger generation has lots of college debt and is focused on self-goals there goes the idea of having a family.
