I watched this segment this morning and kept staring at Teyonah Parris, "Where do I know her from???" Finally looked it up! She played Dawn Chambers, Don Draper's secretary in the last ~2-3 seasons of Mad Men! So talented. Your curls are your crown, wear them with pride.

While I didn’t enjoy the movie as most MCU movies. It has its moments, a good plot, and a great soundtrack. That’s all I need in a marvel movie. 😊

Would have helped if they’d gotten to promote this movie before its release, but the actor strike hadn’t ended yet. May not have helped its box office but saying it’s the number one movie despite being the lowest opening for a marvel movie is really putting a spin on it.

It wouldn't have helped. If anything, them doing interviews and being on talk shows would have had a negative effect on the box office.

Never let people gaslight you into thinking representation/diversity is not important. Many of the same people complaining about representation would be doing the same if their group wasn't so well represented for decades and decades. Even now, you can hear some of them talking about a decrease in representation of things like strong, stoic males in movies and shows, and it is not even true as far as I can tell.

Iman Vellani & Teyonah Parris are great in The Marvels!

I love this kid. She's made MCU so fun, exciting, and amazing again. I loved her is Ms. Marvel, and the Marvels was also amazing! 🦸‍♀️❤️

She and her character are the same comic nerd fans !! I love that that!!!! Omg I loves it she is an incredible actress.

Iman is just amazing. Full of energy and is a fan herself. Loved the TV show and took me back when certain Urdu phrases were used 😂😂😂 Teyonah is also very talented and bring on the natural hair! It’s beautiful- how I was raised. She is also awesome on They Cloned Tyrone. Fed up of the ‘Bro’ talk re “Yet another feminist movie! Not going to see it!” I say, get to ‘France’! 😂

@@tatum635 it was very terrible and made no sense whatsoever. The writing was terrible that they stole the plot from space balls and the villian was really dumb and forgettable. One of the worst MCU movies of all time and it's tanking at the box office. Either you have the lowest IQ known to mankind or you didn't watch the movie.

I'm going to go see this movie again this weekend. This movie was really goood. I truly don't understand the hate.

Because it's a women primary movie, and we all know how well THAT flies around here. Especially with B&B women. Sad, you'd think the boys would like seeing hot chicks on screen. They didn't seem to mind it in all 3 Charlie's Angels movies... Oh wait, they did it in lingerie

I'm excited! I knew about the Monica Rambeau character since the early 80s! She was a Black woman endowed with the marvel powers. She could fly at the speed of light. She was even the temporary leader of the AVENGERS in their comic book series. I was always amazed there was a Black character like this. Now I get to see it on film! I always cherished her, Black Panther, Storm and Power Man (Luke Cage) - incredible Black characters I got to grow up reading!

That first statement made every single thing you said a lie

Only person who can talk on discrimination for their hair is whoopie when them directots held her hair in their hands and said " what do we do about this shyte" I remember that. Times are not like that now. That women can straighten her hair if she wants or needs to.

How is this the number 1 movie if it flopped? It made the least amount of money in marvel history. The director of marvels was just recently fired from Disney because the movie got such bad reviews.😂

Seriously, got nothing against these actresses but who spends 300 million dollars on 1 mostly disliked actress and 2 completely unknown actresses? It's an insult to veteran actors who had to prove themselves in B-Movies before reaching this level. And like it or not, most people watch these big budget films to see their favorite actors perform not to discover newbies take their first steps. They have to go the popularity tests in lower films first. Only reason why I watched Eternals was because Angelina Jolie was starring. The rest of the cast were newbies and it tanked. This is a business meant to generate profit not a civil rights movement.

Iman seems very sweet but her character needs more juice behind it. An in-universe superhero fangirl becoming a superhero is just too meta, too like what ChatGPT would produce. Give her something difficult, some struggle, something about her particular background to overcome. And be willing to offend - maybe her traditionalist parents don't want her being a superhero. The movie needed something more.

​@@deceiver444never say never... Thor 2 wasn't a big winner at BO, but we got Ragnorak... they will most likely do a revamp if they wanna do a 3rd one. And Captain is just too big of a Character not too. I really think her 3rd movie will be like a Civil War. If you follow the Vaptain America trilogy, they are almost following the same path with Carol and Captain Marvel. A woman out of time (with some memory issues), she teams up with select group of heroes to take down another terrible militant group on her adopted world, and I think the 3rd will be an internal conflict between the heroes she has met along the way.

Aquaman 2 has faired worse than The Marvels in its opening weekend

This movie was terrible. Also, representation is important, but it's dumb to alienate your existing fanbase for one that does not exist. It's like having a sequel to Barbie focus on Ken and in it he proves Barbie is dumber and less valuable than him. Then people would be expecting girls to want to watch that. Even calling them sexist if they don't.

Sunny has natural hair. Having blonde highlights doesn't mean it's not natural hair. She didn't say " natural hair colour." Natural hair means black people's hair that isn't chemically straightened. No relaxers or perms.They can still wear weave or colour their hair. But once you put that relaxer or perm on it, it's no longer natural hair.
