When concerts were $4 or 5 and $6 you were seeing the best that music ever has had. Now you can't even see a band for less than $200 man it's absolutely ridiculous those days will never be here again. I bring them back because I have an extensive album collection with all of that stuff and I'll just love it I love listening to the music and going back in time a little bit feels good sometimes

As a former musician, vocalist and bass player I can tell you from my interactions with fellow musicians over the years there are so so many of us that are happy to be from the upstate S.C. and look up to Toy Caldwell as a singer, song writer, guitarist and IDOL . First time I heard "Can't You See" I was waking up (half way) that morning and thinking I had written that song (dreaming) and wondering how it got on the radio so soon. lol

Toy's guitar style and song writing couldn't be duplicated so it made him the most irreplaceable member. The thing that I think is most unique about their music, and is what drew me too them, is the additional talent of Jerry Eubanks. His alto sax and flute parts in many of their songs just took this band to remarkable heights in southern rock. It was a once in a lifetime blending that stomped your feet while electricity shot up and down your spine. Boy Howdie!

A great KZread comment. This song came up on my KZread homepage for some reason, I’d never even heard of them before so I decided to give them a listen, it was the flute that kept me on board during the intro to keep listening. Thank god it did because I discovered The Marshall Tucker Band and all it’s glory. I’m from the UK so they were never on my radar until then. A New Life is just full of fantastic songs.

I’m from the U.S. South but never liked the music which is considered Country and Western. Country Rock is another genre altogether! Listen to Jim Croce too. His career regretfully was cut short by an early death but he was widely respected for country rock. Some called it swamp rock! PS. Had to come back to add: Creedance Clearwater Revival!

This song takes me way back to 1973. So much feeling and heart ache in this song. Me and three of my best friends got high and piled into a car and headed for Texas Hall at the University of Texas at Arlington. It turned out to be an auditorium that would hold about 5000 people, but only 3000 showed up. The concert was billed for Jo Jo Gunn, The Marshall Tucker Band and Robin Trower. We knew a lot about Jo Jo Gunn but very little about the other two bands. We sat at the front of the balcony, looking down on the stage and boy o boy were we ever blown away by all three bands. We loved southern rock and Marshall Tucker was medicine for my soul. One of the all time great concerts that I have been to.

Sad that he passed away early. :( I was a Junior in HS when this performance happened. Great times, the 70's were a weird but fun decade, especially the early 70's. What I like best about the music from this time is that the live performances weren't overproduced with all the lights and video and special effects. Just good musicians playing awesome music and putting themselves out there. GREAT!

whats amazing to me , is that he came home from being drafted , shot , they probably shortened basic training on him & his brother, to a mere 4 weeks... dropped them literally in a tropical jungle , in southeast asia , where they HAD TO KILL ! NO CHOICE GIVEN... IN 67 TET OFFENSIVE !! AND STILL HE had this talent in his heart... & found away to display it.... attitude & emotions is really all music is..... a TRUE AMERICAN HERO! IN MY OPINION..... LONG LIVE THE MEMORY OF TOY! HELLO MR. DANIELS......

I was at one of their concerts in 1979 in Biloxi, Ms and had been to many concerts by this time in my life. They were the most tightest bands I had ever herd. Best group in concert I had ever herd.

my dad told me the first time of seeing the Marshall tucker band. it was just when the Allman Brothers started touring again with the loss of Duane, so my dad and his friend where on the right side of the stage about level with it too. they look at the amp stack and airbrushed on said Marshall Tucker Band " just like the Allman Brothers did" and the band blew the Brothers away with this song and many others like 24 hours at a time and fire on the mountain. feel i had to share that story one of my favorites

I guess because now days you don’t have to have real talent to get a record deal. RECORD EXEC. Used to look for real talent , maybe they have grown more stupid and they do not know what real talent is. It just flat out dosent get any better than MTB, toys vocals are awesome.

Historic group & times. I hopped two freight trains once in the mid 70's to finish off my hippy years.. one to Portland Or, the other to Spokane Wa. ..memorable rides. Had to do it. My wife drove me nuts. She never did drugs, smoke or drank. Thought it was a sure thing to straighten me out. She did. She was crazier than me without the help. A true nut job. It's been 35 lonely years after letting her go, but sorry to say she burned me for life. I want to go back to Walla Valley & the Blue Mountains. I need final peace. ...this song is truly epic for me.
