50 years ago, and it's still fantastic! Few are left from this film, Frank Langella and perhaps a few more but it's still one of the best!❤❤❤😂😂😂
This is my favorite Zorro movie! Love Frank Langella!
The swordsmanship is astounding. Almost like Princess Bride. Great story and good acting. Thanks for sharing it.
For me the best Zorro was and always be....Guy Williams
Saw this when it was released on tv. Frank Langella was excellent! Many great swordsmen in Hollywood but Basil Rathbone is reputed to be the all-time greatest!
I had never seen or heard of this movie. Thank you! Good over evil and good wins!
Most excellent TV movie.
One of best performances of some of the best actors and actress in the entertainment industry.
This was my introduction to Zorro, watching this TV movie in 1974, prior to seeing Guy Williams or Tyrone Power.
Frank Langella.. so young… so beautiful.
Enjoying The victory of ZOORO and the beautiful history of zorro Nice movie ❤❤❤
my favorite zorro is Guy William the conqueror the original indigenous zorro 🆗☝️🎩🎩💯
Basically, it's a pilot for a tv series that wasn't picked up. A word for word remake of the much better 1940 film with Tyrone Power and Basil Rathbone. They even use the opening fanfare and march composed by Hugo Friedhofer adapted for this film by Dominic Frontiere. Alfred Newman wrote most of the music for the original film. Good to see Ricardo Montalban in another swashbuckler. He was in a 1950's film for Universal called Mark of the Renegade based on a story by Johnstone McCulley who created Zorro in 1919.

Looks like many of the old props were used. e.g. the wagon used by Diego 6:37

1940 is the best as a story and also the best frencing fighting 1940.
Actually an outstanding performance by Frank Langella. It is very much of the same vein as the Scarlet Pimpernel
Buncha great stars
Excellent film. Well done
I got a Zorro sword for Christmas in 1958. The first thing I did was attack the tree. I killed the tree my reward was several hand prints on my butt.

Ah, the Mark of Sore-ass!
Manly, honorable men, and elegant feminine women….
"Old California, in a bygone era of sprawling haciendas and haughty caballeros, suffers beneath the whip-lash of oppression. Missions are pillaged, native peasants are abused, and innocent men and women are presecuted by the corrupt governor and his army. But out comes a champion of freedom rides the highways. His identity hidden behind a mask, the laughing outlaw ZORRO defies the tyrant's might. A deadly marksman and a demon swordsman, his flashing blade leaves behind..."

@@user-gm5th4si8z Thanks. Glad you loved my comment.
"The Mark of Zorro" made for TV.
I remembered Wild Wild West. During 1960s .
Excellent!
Wow it's basically an exact recreation of the the Tyrone Powers film, obviously using the same script.
merci je ne connaissais pas celui ci de 74 ,hier regardant le même année "La marque de Zorro (1940) | Classique Swashbuckler Films | Tyrone Power, Linda Darnell "
I like this movie 🎬
They used the exact same music as the 1940s Zorro with Tyrone Power, Linda Darnell and Basil Rathborne.
LOVE ALL OF ZORRO MOVIES. FRANK JAVIER , anchorage, alaska
Senors? Should be senores! Still, I watched this and loved every facet of the show! All the cast have passed except Frank Langella. Does anyone see the similarity of politics then to the politics if today? Corrupt politicians in State and Federal are turning the country into chaos!
Takes place in early 1700's LA, but is filmed in Old Tucson. The mission looks to be Sac Xavior Del Blanc some of the sets are from the 1940 version.
Thanks for sharing it! I always enjoy watching Great Movies though. 👍👌👏 And of course, I'm a subscriber! Thanks Again Though.
1st.time is saw this kind of version :Frank Langella other version:Alain Delon ,like Antonio Banderas and many others. This one is different the father is alive.
Interestingly don Diegos mother is played by the actress who played Lilly in The Munsters.

Good Lord.. they even stole some of the music from the 1940 production....
I think that´s a young Tom Selleck as Zorro, long before he discovered the scam of reverse mortgages. And of course Ann Archer, looking sweeter than the violets in the meadow.
It was 50 years ago 2 years before I was born 😂
I enjoyed this version of Zorro. 6/20/24
Zorro's mother is Lilly Munster
hes been gone a long time, he should of asked who the Alcadi is,
Hollow Remake!
👍❤👍
Montalbon and a host of other stars. Excellent. Portrayal of the padre and inside the church, not so excellent. Montalbon and the others should have known better. Totally anachronistic.
EXACT SAME SCRIPT FROM THE TYRONE POWER MOVIE ZORRO IN 1940...NOTHING LIKE BEING ORIGINAL AND RE-HASHING SOMEONE ELSE'S MOVIE.
✨ Z ✨ 👶👏❤️
Missing words, others mis-spelled, total lack of punctuation has made the subtitle worthlessly distracting. Have you received a bill for this AI jibberish?
