THE EPIC SAGA OF THE MAPOGO BROTHERS | Full Documentary

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

This is the story of the Mapogo, the six lion brothers who conquered more prides and land than any lion coalition before them.
Their story shows the rarely witnessed dark side of lions, but also the strong bond between brothers.
The Mapogo were an extraordinary band of brothers, lead by their mentor and great leader Makulu.
The Magogos reigned for six years which is a remarkable achievement, considering that the window of male lions to sire cubs is rather short.
Some say they were savage, brutal killers, but at the end of the day they did what male lions are supposed to do... conquer land and prides, sire cubs and defend their territory.

Yes, they are without a doubt great videos, but what spoils it is the narrator whose voice is extremely irritating! So much so that I can't watch it all the way through. If you're going to make good videos then please have someone who doesn't have any type of accent and has a fairly good command of the English language

Best narrated most balanced and nuanced account and story well told She should compile all her videos into a move to replace that biased sensationalistic and dramatic brothers in blood movie about Mapogos for start and make new ones. The Mapogo brothers were destroyed by people, they were destroyed by the workers of the reserve, they hated Mapogo, because the Mapogo brothers killed a lot of lions in the park, and because of this, the number of tourists sharply decreased. The workers of the reserve are to blame for everything.

And then one by one we watch them age, they never lose heart, their bodies just can't keep up. Sometimes we get one last hoo rah, one more battle for the ages. And then they fade off into the distance. Just for these guys it's death.

The 4 Mangheni born into the Tsalala pride are daughters of all 6 Mapogo, not only Mr.T e KT. All 3 Othawa female and 2 Othawa males were sired by all 6 Mapogo too.

Thanks for the comment, it's much appreciated. You are right that all Mapogo mated with the Tsalala and the Othawa lionesses. The first set of Mapogo-cubs sired in the Tsalala pride (born in May 2008) did not make it. The 4 cubs that survived and became the Mhangeni lionesses were born a year later in Feb-April 2009. During this time T and KT were mostly seen with the Tsalala pride. As for the Othawa lionesses, they were born in June 2008, at a time when T and KT were spending gradually less time in the western sector. Frankly, No-one can say with certainty who exactly sired which one of the cubs in either one of these prides. What we can say for sure is, who raised and protected them when they were at the most vulnerable age.

While all this was happening, the Mapogo brothers were eating a buffalo or a zebra every other day. That’s thousands of animals during their life time.

The hatred of Mapogos by man cause their downfall, not really other lions. Mr. T and Pretty Boy were allegedly drucked and given to the Selatis. Rasta and Dreadlocks were just killed by rangers themselves not some random pachers as it is being reported. Allegedly THE HATRED OF MAPOGOS BY MAN DESTROYED MAPOGOS.

The truth is that 5 Baby lions were born...not 6 The 6th lion was about 6 to 8 months older than the original 5 The 6th lion was from another clan of lions that joined them and was accepted because he had some kind of blood relations with the Father of the the 5 lion cub clan Originally there were 10 cubs...5 males and 5 females Why do people have to lie when the must know the real truth to begin with?

No matter how many times people tell this story, the truth is out, the Mapogos lions were killed by the rangers who assisted in their deaths and made it look like they died by their rivals. The rangers from the lodges who shot Rasta and tranquilized MR. T and Kinky Tail so that they would be separated and eventually lose their battles with the Selatis is a hidden truth. Also the rangers couldn't sell the safari experience to guest as long as the mapogos were around because they killed all other lions which made them bad for business. It always comes down to money with these colonizers 🙄
