Yeah, i think that was one of Johnny's greatest atribute and also that he always knew he was a comedian (a really good one) not a political analyst like some hosts today.

Watching from Australia these old Johnny Carson shows leave the late night shows of today for dead . As a matter of fact i could say the hosts of the late night shows now are just fools except for maybe Conan who i can laugh with .
I thought he dealt with propane and propane accessories
Was he in the movie stroker ace?

He sure was. KZread user "AAA" shared a cool link from the Herald Journal-“Union Man's Business Dropping Off, But Makes Him a `Tonight Show' Hit." The newspaper mentions that Burt Reynolds saw Frank O. Hill’s genuinely funny 1982 Tonight Show appearance and offered him brief parts in 1983's "Stroker Ace" and 1984's "Cannonball Run II" [Hill's scene was deleted in Cannonball but Reynolds "kept in the movie a panel truck that advertised Hill and his jewelry"].
I dated a girl from Union SC I can truly say she was one that I let get away 4evr luv Leanne B.

Frank pushed back to Johnny's extremely rude and snarky responses. Imagine flying all the way across the country to be treated like a rube. Johnny was full of himself. Frank 10, Johnny 0.

None of his responses were rude or snarky.

It really bothered me that Carson would make fun of his guests because they had some quirky hobby.

Huh? He had great quirky people on the show & showed their hobbies - hobbies THEY were proud of & THIS show probably brought them a LOT of recognition. It was an honor to go on Johnny's show for anyone - from everyday people doing everyday stuff to entertainers trying to get their big break. Johnny was respectful but of course the audience was there to see him react & enjoy meeting them. Nothing wrong with what he did. Nothing at all. They had fun & everyone enjoyed laughing along with the quirks. Relax already!

much appreciation for uncovering this vintage 1991 interview with Frank O. Hill. He was still a quick wit!

Frank O. Hill was a match in heaven for Johnny. "The Cartier of ca-ca". The best of Johnny.
