This old School music stays forever young in our heart and Soul . 💝💖👩❤️💋👨💎
It's a real shame music like this isn't made anymore, those of us whom were lucky enough to had grown up with it had the best music that was made.

The fear and trepidation of asking that girl across the room to dance. And while the song plays, you realize your heartbeat is perfectly in tune with the beat of the song. ❤😂

I disagree. You have changed, not human nature. You used to have more illusions about other people. This tune was released in 1980. Even a tIny peek at that decade -- let alone the preceding 5,000 years of written history -- shows terrible atrocities happening routinely. You and me are no doubt fine people, but we all "remember" things as we imagined them, not as they were. I remember the 60s as being full of optimism -- because I was. But older people remember lynchings, shootings, polio, indoor smoking, and terrible car safety. The 80s were filled with war (Lebanon, Iraq, Yugoslavia, Ireland, South Africa, India) and terrible music (not this, of course) and cocaine. Asking God to change things...is it really possible for something to happen against God's will? I'm not trying to troll. I do think misplaced nostalgia causes the very problems it claims to want to reverse,,,because shifting into reverse without looking backwards never comes out well.

@@andrewzboard I’m 62, it sounds like you are a bit older. Of course things have changed looking back 50-55 years. Just look at this group’s appearance. Well groomed and well dressed. Now they got tats on thier necks and pants falling off, lol 50 years ago people didn’t lock thier doors even in some big cities. Smaller towns never. An 8-10 year old kid could go out with a rake or snow shovel and make a few bucks, without worrying about stranger danger. Nobody brought guns to school and did school shootings. They just duked it out with fists. I still think men and women treated each other with more respect. You bring up valid points too . Being homeless 50-55 years ago was against the law. Women were brought in out of the cold . Men were given a chance and help to find a job . And the police would call around to help the guy get work and a room to rent . If he kept losing his job and living drunk in the park or woods , he would be arrested for vagrancy. And maybe that would help him get a taste of how valuable freedom is. They didn’t have the mass drug problem or divorce rate in the 50,s . 60,s , 70,s and 80,s brought it from 10-20 percent to 50 percent. I guess the free love thing hurt too many feelings.

This was my High school sweetheart and my song, he could walk in a room and I would get butterflies. I was only fourteen years old when he asked me to the July 4th fireworks at our high-school football field, my mom had to drive me to meet him because he was a month away from getting his license. Things were so different back then, 1980. I close my eyes when i hear this song and see us as teenagers so madly in love. Two sons and 42 years later and we are still together. He's the love of my life, truly my one true ❤️ love.

This was my song to my Husband who was in the Marine Corp. Loved seeing him come and absolutely hated when he had to leave. I would listen this song & cry for him everyday. I could handle it better when he was on base. But when they went out the country for maneuvers, out on ships for months, training in the jungles or wherever there were things that could eat him or was shooting at him made me inconsolable. He was there for 6 years, but to me it was like 20. They hard for being apart, but he was so worth the wait ❤💙❤
I wish we still had music like this today. Most of these groups, a lot of them has passed away. I wish we could bring this music backb's was the best of times

We definitely had the Music in the 60’S. I am 76 and my 16 year old Grandson just sent me these Beautiful Memories.😊😢
Theres a strength in this song i sang growing up, i performed this manytimes meaning with my whole heart, Mom& Dad shining star down upon me dont you go away!! Thank Our lord for brining me this far 50 yrs later
I was brought up on this music my mum and dad listened to it all and I'm carrying on the trend as I missed out on the era of good music i was born in the 80s so i lucked out but thankfully youtube has it all for me this 50s and 60s music have always been the best music such a shame no1 does music like this anymore. But thankfully we have KZread 😢
The best. I never get tired of listening to it.
My husband played this song for me on our first date and he still calls me his Shinning Star , little sister
2023 here. I'm 53 and this is a jam from the day for me. Think of my girl every time.
What a classic. I was 12 when this came out and it takes me back to a simpler time of junior high school and having crushes. :) It was on the radio a lot in 1980. Beautiful voice!!!

Were you only 2 when this song came out cause you don't look that old Ma'am...born in 79 but grew up listening to all these old school R&B with my older brother and still do

Should have charted so much higher. Such a shame
heard this today for the 1st time at 75 years old! - I am hooked on it, had to ask the restaurant staff what this was - beautiful!
Wonderful love song. I feel the same emotions I felt when I first heard this song, and I am 71.

Onde erramos????
Once again I will claim this as one of the best songs of my life
This was my late husband and mine 1st dance together at our wedding in1980
Linda música, nasci em 95 porém amo as músicas mais antigas são as melhores 👏👏👏👏👏

Wow! Always Loved’ This Song At Younger Age And Now I’m Loving The Lyrics/Voice Even MORE!💓
These Legends were passionate about music. That is why even today their music is still relevant. ❤
I’m 59 this brings back better times and how I wish music today would sing lovely Ballads as These wonderful Men did!
So thankful my mom had great taste in music. She used to listen to this and I got hooked. We used to skate to this song all the time when I was a kid. Classic love song. I used to play this for some of those special girls I was crushing on when I was growing up.
The most soulful group ever. Cool, smooth, gentlemen, totally unique, no other soul group anything like them.
