Troublesome Fourth, I love it. That reminds me of Kelly's Heroes. Loved Oddball in that movie. For you young bloods WW2 movie, from the 70s. Good movie.

I think thats one of the strongest points of the Ultras: their skill to regroup even when they are from separate companies. It allows them to form a cohesive force to strike back or regroup

Aka their Adaptability which isnt talked about much by the fandom. But then again they lost that over the 10k years before big g came back

@@davidpower5710the Codex as much of a limitiation as it might be was created to be an extensive treatise about all things war-related it was meant to give them as much tools as possible to face most situations; time, dogma, stagnation and new threats unknown to Guilliman degraded it but it was the most well-rounded base among all combat doctrines the Space Marines used until the moment Guilliman returned.

@@g.sergiusfidenas6650 funny enough Guilliman made it so the codex could be alteres. There are exceptions to each rule. The ultras decided to atick to it to their own detriment, ironically ennough forgetting about theoreticals and practicals

@julianpradarodriguez7336 it's been altered over time and the ultramarines have made alterations themselves to it, they however tend to debate the feasibility and potential advantages and disadvantages before making any changes to the codex, see the tryanic war veterans as an example.

I loved Ventanus. The guy embodied what it means to be an Ultramarine.

He appeared to Ventris not as any regular spirit but as a member of the Legion of the Damned, seems very in-character for a son of Guilliman to that much of a workaholic.

I love when Warhammer implies that there is a nice afterlife for the Loyalists with all the immortal saints and ghostly reappearances

Ehhhhhhhhh.... They've _shown_ the imperial afterlife on a couple occasions... It's not great. There's a reason it's called "The City of Dust", and it's not because the maid is on vacation. Plus, until at least like M38, even that afterlife hadn't formed yet, so only Astartes were saved from being nommed by daemons, and even then they'd become imperial daemons themselves. But the afterlife of a Titan princeps? Is and always has been pretty sweet. You spend your whole life grappling wills with a so-called "God Machine". Your job description can be summed up as "Tell a mountain to move, and get it to listen". Then if you manage to maintain your sanity long enough to garner the respect of the Titan's machine spirit, it will shield your soul in the warp, protecting you from Daemons. Side note, I'm pretty sure the Machine Spirit of a Warlord Titan is probably about as powerful as a lesser chaos god like hashut from Warhammer Fantasy. It'd add whole new meaning to the term "God Machines".

No lie these were some excellent books. I know people hate the Ultramarines for whatever reason, but as a new reader I can't help but think they've rightly deserved the hype they're given in the books.

🖤⚫ (I desire your wisdom to enrich my new Horus Heresy) Do you think you agree with my idea to put as Primarchs II and XI Ulysses and Casmero (Iron Snakes and Silver Skulls)? But even if they had been present with their brothers perhaps the story (Horus Heresy) would still have gone the same way. Since the new Primarchs (Devortus Gault, Thesephae, Murad Agha, Arpaza, Mikael Corveda, Severin, Dakuali) cannot be found by the Emperor, can Roboute Guilliman himself (at his father's command) fill the role of finding them on their adopted homeworlds (Zaebus, Artherion, Burso, Posul, Aurelia, Cailleach, Temeura) and reuniting them with the new (old) Legions (III Red Scorpions, IV Minotaurs, VIII Black Dragons, XIV Mortifactors, XV Blood Ravens, XVI Doom Eagles, XX Carcharodons)?
