@@rockdesu Simple. DYKG's much lower production (not a bad thing mind you) compared to Splash Wave allows them to churn out more content in less time, and uploading said content consistently and quickly gains subs just as fast. But man do I admire the amount of work SW puts into all their graphic assets! Someone had to spend grueling hours 3d modeling those Sega consoles and set pieces just to give us 20 minutes of video game history, yet the channel gets a fraction of subscribers and views.

The production value. I don't even have to look at the comments. I _know_ people are talking about it. Two suggestions for future content: 1: Consider simulating a CRT look for your game footage. The solid-pixel default look of emulated footage is fine when talking about games within the context of modern day experiences, but when the subject is strictly a history lesson, viewers like me are likely to prefer historical authenticity, even if it's strictly simulated. 2: 60fps. Maybe you think 30fps gives the video a higher production look, since it's close to cinema's 24fps, but it really wreaks havoc on video game footage. A better framerate always carries the bonus of making a video look slicker, even if viewers aren't necessarily able to pinpoint why. Just look at Kurzgesagt. They know.

Awesome video on a madly interesting subject. As a SEGA Genesis fan, those are the kinds of videos I really love, but sadly most of youtube is Nintendo fans doing countless of the same videos about Nintendo. So this is not only highly polished content, but refreshing.

Excellent work! Another interesting note: Yuzo Koshiro's Streets of Rage title theme was heavily influenced by rapper Ice MC 1990 song named "Easy".

Another stellar Splash Wave! It's so easy to fall into the trap so many other gaming retrospective channels do, endlessly retelling stories about games without going into detail and getting lost in their own echo chamber. When I watch Splash Wave, though, I actually LEARN new and interesting things about the games, programmers and musicians whose influence molded young, impressionable me's worldview as much as my own family did. These deep-dives are spellbinding, and when they're over I wonder how and why it's taken so long for such amazing stories to be brought into the light. The editing and effects work on display here is awesome, too! Keep it up, and it won't be long before this channel blows up!

absolutely amazing video. Love your research and the care and attention you've put into this. I was so glad you took the time to dive into the beginning of Yuzo Koshiro's legacy. All this is a piece of time that we get to know now as a true turning point in gaming and multi-media story telling. At the time, they were just fresh-faced graduates and doing what they thought was right. All the handshakes man. This truly is spell binding work.

Absolutely incredible. It's just impossible not to leave a comment, when every video is oozing with detail and 10/10 production quality!!! Also I have to say that, if anyone were to find the information "expressed" in your videos not from them, it would be super boring and/or time-consuming, but with every video of yours, it is very entertaining and in such a little time compared to the research you did! tl;dr: Once again, another masterpiece. Taking your time proves always worth it!
