Great video as always. I loved the Illusion series as a kid. I was only 5 years old when Castle of Illusion released in 1990. I remember playing the Master System version and loving it. I didn't get a Mega Drive till 1993/1994 when I was about 8. I had no idea until then that there was a version for the Mega Drive. When I played it, I was amazed at how different the two games were built at the same time felt exactly the same. I later found out about both Quackshot and World of Illusion and put them on my Christmas list. I remember having an awesome Christmas that year when I got those 2 games. I sat in front of that TV and played them both all day long. If you were strictly a Nintendo kid back then and nothing could sway you to the Mega Drive/Genesis then there was a very good chance that by playing this series of games would've made you want one.

I can't thank you enough for this video, I grew up with Fantasia and Quackshot, and now knowing the history behind them makes me so happy. What I enjoyed about those two games, besides mickey and donald plus the overall magic feeling of old disney, was that [for a young kid] they were pretty hard games. Fantasia was a very hard game for me because of the mentioned clunky controls and sometimes off hitboxes, and quackshot added an extra layer of complexity by being a "metroidvania-esque" game but also having text on it, since my language isn't english and the game didn't had options for my language, so figuring out what to do blindly was so entertaining to me. To this day I pretty much think about both of those games all the time, they've inspired me in a way or another, so knowing those two games are related in a way gives me happiness.

This video deserves more views. I haven't played the MegaDrive variants myself, but I love Lucky Dime Caper, Castle- and Land of Illusion for the SMS. Was an interesting watch, and now I want a MegaDrive.

This channel deserves milions of subscribers around the world (i'm from Brazil). Amazing work in this video. By the way, Land of Illusion is the best Master System game i've ever played.

Trivia: The Spider-Man and Dick Tracy games were also western-developed, and some of Sega’s first western-developed games.

Yes that's right! Dick Tracey was actually the first game by Sega Technical Institute (Sega's first US development studio where they made Sonic 2 and 3) and Ed Annunziata (from ecco fame) produced Spiderman, it was one of his first projects at Sega.

One of the few channels I’ll make sure to set time aside to WATCH, and not just have on in the background.
