I’m just gonna say right now. Daredevil. Is. The. Best. It is my favourite TV show ever. It’s the closest thing to perfect and it’s borderline criminal that this show got cancelled, similarly to something like Young Justice.

I remember those days. I even helped out a bit to get those books out. That book was the top book at the time, was a pleasure to meet Kevin sometime after, I even got into a NY screening of Dogma. (Not thru Kevin though.) Always loved DD, was happy to see him shine again.

mudbeast21 we can only hope that in two years Disney could continue Daredevil. Rebooting the character wouldn’t be any good because his show is an MCU show

Quesada was an amazing Daredevil artist.

Giving Kevin Smith a bit too much credit saying he practically saved DareDevil.

Kevin Smith’s DD got me into him. He is now in my top 3 with Punisher & Capt. America

The only Kevin Smith story I ever read was the Guardian Devil story with Joe Quesada and it was great. Copped it as a trade back in high school. Until that story I honestly thought Mysterio was just a push over.

First thing I thought watching this video was I hope SyFy have picked up Daredevil

The movie from ‘03 distorted my image of the character not for the better but Guardian Devil got me back into him. I know the book was before the movie but I grew up in a town where the nearest comic book store was 80 miles away. Then Bendis’ run kept me buying more issues, digital or otherwise. Comics are limitless when compared to movies or TV shows. Some exceptions are the Batman and X-Men series from the 90s and the Netflix DD and Punisher shows.

Daredevil: Target as well, and took ages to finish Spider-man/ Black Cat (which was awful). Then there were a couple of Batman books he started and didn't finish, and his Green Arrow run was lazy. Smith gave into weed, and thought he was the writing version of Snoop Dog. Nowadays...he's not the writer he was...

Guardian Devil had a fatal flaw. The villain successfully lies to Daredevil early in the story. That's impossible.

Can't stand his films but enjoy most of his comic stories.

I have 5 Daredevil comics and Bullseye doesn't show up in any of them.

Kevin Smith blows hot and cold with his comics. Good: Daredevil and Green Arrow. Bad. Black Cat. Awful: Batman: The Widening Gyre, Daredevil: The Target. I wish he'd do more though.

Daredevil in the comics is still not terribly popular, the issues from the 60s are dirt cheap compared to many other Marvel titles.

At one point I enjoyed smith so much. He really did become a shill and grifter. His move to the far left made him very unlikable

I know it’s not a considered good by a lot of fans but I loved the Ann Nocenti run. I think the fact it followed Frank Miller’s classic is what has lead to so much dislike for Nocenti’s Daredevil.

This book was so bad, but without it, we might not have gotten Bendis’ and Brubaker’s takes, or even Daredevil Season 3

This video says Kevin's Daredevil run inspired season three. Of course I stopped watching Daredevil after season 2 so I have no idea how much. Kevin's story can't be as bad as you make it out to be, if that was the case.

I loved Smith's Guardian Devil in high school. Whedon's X-Men was terrible and I never want to see his Buffy Scooby Gang style with the children of the atom again.

literally the only iconic thing to come out of this story was Karen Page's death. everything else was wack--Daredevil getting so messed up that he throws a baby off a building, Karen got AIDS, etc Honestly, Kevin Smith isn't that great of a comics writer. If Guardian Devil doesn't convince you, maybe try his work on Batman or even his Hit-Girl series out right now. But yes, it's STILL an important work in both Marvel's and Daredevil's history
