I can't believe Harald Strutz pulled that card, citing what Kloppo said to the crowd in Mainz at that celebration for him when he left. "Everything I am, everything I can do, you gave to me." I had all but forgotten about that one. But I was there, on the theatre square in Mainz, when he said that, I remember standing in the crowd with my mum, crying when he started choking up. Hearing it just now instantly made me tear up again, damn. XD

I was initially under the impression that Klopp was a good but one-dimensional manager. Yet, he's evolved season by season and I now consider him to be one of the greatest managers of all time. There's no weakness to his managerial abilities. I feel like most managers are excellent in certain departments and weak in others, yet Klopp does it all at the very highest level. He's technically astute, has unsurpassed man/fan management, player development skills and can exceed expectations with limited finances. Last but not least, he does this all with humility and an appreciation that football at the end of the day should bring a smile to all involved.

When assistent manager Buvac left (before the 2nd leg against Roma in 2018), I thought it might be going downhill for LFC since Klopp'd also pointed out that Buvac was the brain and he (Klopp) the heart of the coaching staff. However, Klopp also evolved in that respect and LFC even got better tactically since Buvac's departure (to be fair also the current assistent managers have a share in it).

Kloppo, a story of second chances, of not giving up and keep going, a story that underlines his football philosophy. Someone who is more than a manager to Liverpool fans, who tells them to wait for the right moment to seize an opportunity, who tells them to stick by what is right and what is wrong. Klopp is a way of life. I have always maintained, even when LFC never won a trophy, that Klopp is the biggest trophy of them all.

A really great one. If every leader or boss or head were half as good as he is, world would be a better place. Ynwa!

@@devanpatel7478 I love Klopp for the mere fact that he pinpointed what we fans have been screaming out for years, a GREAT GK and a SOLID CB. Klopp tried initially with Karius (because LFC couldn't compete financially back then), and he got rid of almost ALL the members of that LEAKY DEFENCE. Mignolet, Skrtel, Sakho, Johnson, Moreno. Lovren soon.

Their difference in philosophy was evident from day 1. Remember Brendan kept on harping on about the 'legacy', 'history' and just piled pressured on the players to perform. I never understood why he did that. Yet with Klopp, he dismissed the legacy and emphasised that we needed to write our own story.

Europeans may not understand this reference. In the US the all-time greatest coach was John Wooden (NCAA Basketball). Wooden secured ten NCAA national championships in a 12-year period (including seven in a row), an untouchable feat. Like Klopp, it was not just his dedication to winning, but understanding how to blend his personality, with his players, and the fans with his coaching ethics and philosophy into something special.
