Spiritual development? Spiritual is of consciousness, of nonphysical--its not about muscles and body training. Most spiritual development comes in treating others with kindness, respect, compassion, and in a universal sense and especially when people are not treating you more positively. I think he just really enjoys doing this stuff and pushing himself. Would call that recreational passion.

The story of the Grizzly meme is funny. People on like Reddit and 4Chan found him online and made him into a big joke for all the obvious reasons. But then more info came out about him - his past as an athlete and how he does these odd lifts to get around injuries - and people tried these lifts out. everyone had to admit that while he comes across very over-the-top and goofy.... the dude is unreal strong. memes and jokes aside, that dude does some insane feats of strength.

As someone who is not morbidly obese but still quite overweight, seeing the effort and confidence Kyriakos does what he does is inspirational in so many ways, even if I wouldn't do the training he does personally because I am weak. I am very insecure about the way I look, about my body, about my strength, I am very afraid of getting mocked and have trauma of being mocked for my weight back in elementary, middle and highschool. I think it's really important to remember that the term "optimal" is incredibly goal-biased. I can listen to a knowledgeable muscle nerd like Jeff Nippard or Dr. Mike explain what's "optimal" for muscle development - but that is no help if muscle growth is only a secondary or tertiary goal. For example, those same guys would advise people to stay away from exercises with too much "fatigue to stimulus" ratio for building muscle. But this is not helpful for people who are looking to build high tolerance to systematic fatigue. On the other side of the coin, you have athletic trainees who are looking to build muscular endurance in strength training, not just "building muscle" as a catch all. Individuals like this are going to have training programs that don't make a lot of sense to a regular gym goer, because they're obviously geared differently. Is doing max sets of pull ups "optimal" for muscle building? No, certainly not. But it may be ideal for gymnast and climbers. Is a power clean ideal for building muscle? No, but it has its obvious benefits as well. Remember that Kyriokos isn't training for building muscle per se, he's training "for the difficult".

I'm not sure how healthcare works in Greece, but in most eu countries you can usually get the surgeries covered by some kind of universal health care/mandatory insurance. The wait times can however be very long especially for stuff deemed not life threatening/essential. Or you can pay out of pocket and get it fixed faster at private clinics. But maybe his injuries weren't repairable? Or he chose not to get the surgery? From what I could glean from your video: the usual paradigm for "general strength" is training (appropriately) full ROM on a properly selected set of full body free weight movements in the 3-6 rep range, never sacrificing form for weight, and occassionally throwing in training said movements but in very very disadvantageous positions (jefferson deadlift, snatch grip, ATG squats, etc). The other paradigm is to adjust execution so as to STAY in the "maximally advantageous ROM" of said movements but drastically increase loads (e.g. powerlifting mindset) to compensate for the lack of ROM/disdvantageous positions. Kyriakos has simply applied this powerlifting mindset to his own "selected" set of full body lifts and progressed the loads to unimaginable levels. His lifts of choice (zercher shrugs, sled pulls/pushes, high pulls, cheat curls, lateral raises, sumo barbell rows, lat pulldowns, etc). A massive caloric surplus and PEDs allowed the above to happen.

Hey there, I’d really like to thank you for making Content such as this. I discovered your KZread channel from the video you did about inmates getting jacked, and ever since then I’ve been watching your Content. I’m really glad that you didn’t just make fun of grisly and critique his exercises and get a laugh at his expense, but instead actually look at the good things he does in his workouts, and how they must obviously be affective.

If you can push/pull or lift in any way few hundreds kilos then maybe you're doing it right. A lot of guys on youtube are looking jacked and are giving advices but I doubt any of them would have the strenght to do what Grizzly does. In a SHTF situation I would rather have him by my side than some guy like Mike O'Hearn.

BEAUTIFUL VIDEO! I was hoping for an analysis of this form from the so called strength gurus but most of them unfortunately lack the intellect AND/OR the open mindedness to try and understand what is happening with the man (the legend sorry). I was expecting Greg Doucette to put up something similar but THIS video needs to be the last word on the Bloatlord! Just one thing, he claims to be lifetime natural!

I haven't seen people suggest it really, but the sheer heavy weight he deals with and places on his body, range of movement or not, may stimulate intense bone growth. Bigger bones naturally helps one's stability and strength and naturally allows more muscles anchoring even if the muscles themselves aren't stimulated as much as they should be. Just looking at his movements, his full body is usually braced against the weight in every case so would perhaps stimulate full body bone growth. And seeing his body compared to his younger self, he looks as if he has thicker bones even when disregarding his bloat.

Harnesses are 100% the worst, they make the movement far harder imo. All of a sudden the whole load is fucking your low back when you put one on. I recommend getting good thick elbow sleeves and just adapting to bare skin over time. Just like a hook grip it's only painful for a few weeks and then all of a sudden it feels normal.
