Sooo...the recent comeback started out with them revealing signing with Columbia Records for Western activities and business, then as the comeback rolled out they went no.1 in 20+ countries on iTunes, got multiple hot songs no.1 trending on Billboard, sold 2+ million albums becoming 4/5th best selling 4th gen boy group 2023, did numerous k-variety contents, did SK fansigns, announce concert dates for SK, announce Japan concert dates, Hyunsuk doing first kick off for FCC Seoul football league, the rap units song being used as Asia Football Championship Games celebratory song, got nominated for MTV EMA’s Best Asia Act, did first live Western performance for M-Countdown France, got 4 MAMA nominations...not to mention K-Circle charts doing a presentation on their current positions and stats as they work hard, saying they are on their way to being complete idols due to them gaining much recognition in SKorea. Hoping that before you make videos like these, you also included the latest achievements and schedules they had. This is downright misleading in some ways. And also, YG is a company that puts their music in their highest priority. They are not like some other companies who get a comeback every few months just to sound bland (except 1 group actually) and always had the need to be validated by the western market. But anyway, I still have hopes for YG's strategy. Them building a strong fanbase in Asia I think is 1 of the most important part of their growth. Like why get validation from the west, they are Kpop and Asians through and through. If the western market would like them, that would be good too. After all, at the end of the day, they are still Koreans and Japanese, and KR and JP would still be their home. And getting validation in the west doesn't always equal to longevity. Also, the members are now starting to write their own music and If I were asked about it, then that would be one of the greatest achievement for them. Getting your music out there and seeing fans enjoy your music is one of their goals. As a Kpop fan from 2009 and now a Kpop fan for Treasure, I've seen so many groups and 1 kpop group who completely lost its identity due to western validation and that's just sad. I want Treasure to be their own identity and not lose their Kpop flavor. After all, what's Kpop if you just sound western?

And personally, as an artist I want them to have that longevity and maintaining their signature sound rather than sounding like everybody else. Or course Kpop is evolving and trying to breakthrough the western market is inevitable but I hope they would always stay true to their sound and not them adjusting to the western market just because its the norm now.

I don't know where you get your information from, but Treasure is VERY popular in the U.S. They get radio play a LOT in my local area and I'm not near any major cities. And don't forget they are nominated for 3 MAMA this year. so they are very popular in Korea. And they 've been busy as heck doing things in Korea and other countries. I'm a YG stan but I shld tell something it was heartbreaking for me when mashidam left but now I feel like the 10 boys r much more suited as a grp. I don know I feel like everybody shines equally especially the vocal line even more to b precise jae, sahi , jihoon and hwan. Yedam s very apt for a soloist and mashi too... I always felt some disconnect with these 2 in the grp in the sense of them hiding their unspoken difficulty of some means... Apart from that OT10 and YG team has done stupendous work in making things work. As u said ths video s embarassing 😂😂 the comments be left and right roasting the stupidity 😂

Now you see the others who went unnoticed, really shine. Idk how the group would've developed with yedam. I think YG wanted subunits later on ( this era) to bring the other vocalist more in the forefront.. like T5. I think Mashiho was dealing with issues we can't fully understand. I used to like Treasure and I understood each member from following the show and some of the ones on Mixnine. I just don't get their sound. I get the concept, but their music doesn't appeal to me. Sure the group is successful, but the feel I get from group's like Ateez and Stray Kids is what I expected. Wish them success regardless of my opinion because it's not a group for me. 2pm, Big Bang and Super Junior were the groups that got me into kpop, with a mix of 2ne1 and sistar. Different groups with feels I like.

@@nynsid actually, nowadays if you ask random people in the three countries I mentioned about treasure they’ll treat them like the most popular of celebrities. There, they dominate the charts, and in music festivals they always have the biggest crowds. They also have sold out concerts there and especially in indonesia. Treasure actually have the third biggest fandom in kpop in one single country in Indonesia.
