For sports, the FX6 has an ‘ace in the hole.’ You can turn on cache record and set it at 120fps. The follow the action without recording. When something good happens (a slam dunk, a goal, a diving catch etc) you hit record. The FX6 will constantly be ‘buffering’ the previous 30 seconds to card. One you hit record it writes the previous 30 seconds to card. Sorta makes you look like the hero to the client as you never miss a highlight but done have to slog through puked of footage to find the highlight.

Huge! This is exactly what I wanted to know. I already have the fx6 and 120 only in S&Q sucks. FX3 next. I wanted to know, does the fx3 take good photos?

At the CrossFit Games are you shooting at 120fps in SLOG 3? I'd assume you're not shooting in LOG for quick turn around.

Ryan I'm shooting almost everything in 120fps in SLOG 3 cine. I shoot in S-LOG at all times! Way more flexibility

Heard on another review that you can use it on the RS3 Pro but with "a lot of"counter weights... Actually I have a investment project where both FX6 and FX3 are included but little by little I am changing my mind to exclude the FX6 for another FX3 (even though I know that matter they are different cameras for different applications) and save some "extra money" to apply in other area of the project...

@@acpirola I use it on the RS3 Pro, and don't need any counter weights at all. It's a barebones (no top or side handle) set-up that still uses the small monitor that comes with the camera. I use the BP-U35 battery which is small enough to give clearance to the gimbal.

no way fx3 is the same.. lol variable nd, sdi, timecode, 15 stops of dynamic range,netflix approved, slow n quick mode, dedicated buttons without menu, less megapixels for higher quality 4k... more pixels on fx3 means more noise in low light and aliasing noise between pixels... that's why its 10.2 mp....the fx6 is a pro tool .. fx3 for hobbyists

except for the VND, SDI and buttons they are the same , fx3 is also Netflix approved after the latest firmware update which added DCI 4k 24 and the sensor readout in 16:9 aspect ratio is also 10.2 megapixel. sure the fx6 is perceived as more professional , but its also bulkier and if you want to use a small gimbal and have light setup then fx3 all the way.

the fx3 is better in lowlight and Netflix approved you clearly don't have one Check out what those hobbyist did in the Creator . Its not the tool that makes you pro,being a pro makes you pro. The fx6 is a better camera over all but not for everything

a lot of talking without adressing pros/cons. also the intro was way too long, I just came to hear about the differences between both cameras. though I appreciate the content.
