A whole new level of classic not plastic. Love that alcove at the back and the cloth seating in the lower saloon. Brings you back to the prewar period. So much care taken with the interior appointments. Like being in a nice car, something they try to achieve to this day.

Such a wonderful bus I’ve been to wythall and seen it and can testify as to how good a job was done on restoration So many typical Birmingham corporation features even on that bus including cloth seats downstairs and leather upstairs said to be for the factory workers in Birmingham at the time

The buses looked so classy in this livery and also the WMPTE buses kept a very similar colour scheme after 1969 until the mid 1980s so much better than their current livery

When 'truly stunning' seems to be an understatement! Imagine living in Brum in the 30's and having this luxury to go to work on. Incidentally, the reason for the elongated stairwell was so any stumblers would be less likely to be thrown off the bus when compared to the twisty design more commonly used.
