In regards to the connection between “Antonio” here and his possible connection to Graham Folger from Episode #3 that everyone here (including myself) have been speculating on, I decided to take note of the dates and timelines given in both episodes. This statement by “Antonio” was given on March 14th, 2015. The statement from by Amy Patel in Episode #3 was given on July 1st, 2007. “Antonio” claims to have been having these dreams for about eight years, and they first occurred some time after he left his job at Barclays. Some details given in this episode are arguably a bit ambiguous, such as how long, exactly, “Antonio” broke up with Graham prior to leaving his job, and how long after leaving his job “Antonio” started to have these nightmares (more on this in a bit). At the very least, if we take his statement at face value, eight years prior to giving this statement in March of 2015 would place his first nightmares in early 2007, several months before Amy Patel provided her statement. After that, pinning down the congruencies in the timelines is a bit more difficult. Amy said that she took her course with Graham starting in September of 2005, and the night that they walked home “together” (using that term loosely, since she stated that she didn’t want him to know where she lived) was about four months after beginning the course (approximately December or January). It was after this that she started watching him. She specified that a couple of months had passed before she dropped out of the course, and that the incident where Graham was apparently replaced by the “NotGraham” imposter took place on April 7th, which I can only assume was in 2006. She doesn’t specify how much time passed between the incident and when she moved out, but she apparently waited until the following year to give her statement to the Magnus Institute. A face value interpretation of “Antonio’s” statement might give the impression that he broke up with Graham a few weeks, or perhaps a few months, before he first started having these nightmares in early-to-mid 2007. If that’s the case, this wouldn’t fit the timeline in Amy’s statement at all, because “Antonio” stated that he had been living with Graham for about six years prior to breaking up with him (and this breakup resulted in “Antonio” moving out), and Amy’s observations make it quite clear that Graham lived alone in the months before he was replaced by the “NotGraham” imposter. They would’ve had to have been broken up for at least a year, if not a year-and-a-half (depending on when in 2007, exactly, “Antonio’s” nightmares began) for their timelines to fit. However, if we assume that “Antonio” broke up with Graham early on during his time at Barclays (or perhaps even before starting his job there), and we assume that roughly a year passed after leaving his job there (again, depending on how you interpret what “Antonio” said about the timeline of events), then that could potentially place their breakup sometime in early-to-mid 2005, which would be at least a few months before the night Graham and Amy walked home together. This would explain why Amy never noticed Graham having a boyfriend, let alone one living with him, and could possibly suggest that Graham’s erratic behavior in regards to his paranoia and his notebook collection may have been a factor in their breakup. But, again, this all depends on how charitably you interpret the description of the timeline given by Amy and “Antonio,” or how specific and accurate you think they might have been when giving their statements to the Magnus Institute. At the risk of breaking your immersion, it’s entirely possible that “Antonio’s” boyfriend being named “Graham” was just a red herring placed there by the creators of this series (intentionally or not). Or, if you prefer an in-universe explanation, we could go along with the idea suggested by Jonathan that this statement was a pure fabrication placed in the archives by his coworkers as a practical joke. That possibility would explain not only any apparent mismatch in the timelines between the two statements, but also why they were never able to verify “Antonio’s” identity, and apparently had no confirmation of his work history or the death of his old manager John (at least as far as Jonathan Sims indicated in this episode).

Hi, I'm a first-time listener, and I'm trying to get my notes straight about this. I understand it's been ages for you, so you might not remember, but how did you get that the dreams started eight years prior to the statement? I listened to the whole thing twice and I still can't find where that was implied. I estimated that he broke up with Graham and started having nightmares around 2011-2012, for these reasons: • Antonio stated that, as of March 14th, 2015, he had been living in London for almost a decade, meaning he moved there in 2005-2006. • He had moved to London to get a degree from the London School of Economics, which takes four years to complete (I have no way of knowing if he finished the degree early, so I'm assuming he took four years). • He then worked for Barclay for just over one year following his graduation, meaning he had lived in London for an estimated five years at the time of his breakup. This is interesting to me because he says he and Graham dated for six years, but he himself had only been in London for five. Graham's flat in "Across the Street" was in Clapham, London, so I doubt they dated before Antonio moved there. Maybe there was just enough time between school and work to round his time in London to six years, so it's not a stretch to say he started dating Graham around the time he first moved to London in 2005-2006. In "Across the Street," Amy said she met Graham about 2 years previous to her statement, making it almost definitely 2005. She likely moved out around April of 2005. I see you concluded 2006, but the only clue we get for how long she watched him was "I had been watching that window for months," as of April 7th. If she started watching him very early in the year, then it would be reasonable to assume she stopped in April of the same year, especially because it would line up better with the school year (in the UK, the first half term in spring would start in early January and end right around the beginning of April). It's also just not very believable that she was watching him for nearly an entire year. Anyway, if Amy moved out in 2005, and Antonio moved to London and started dating Graham in 2005, that would explain why Amy never saw Antonio, and it would also mean that Antonio likely never met the actual Graham, though the timeline would allow for him to have met Graham just before he was replaced. Amy does state that Graham left his flat a lot, so it's very possible he was dating Antonio and they only started living together after Amy moved away. Assuming all of this is correct, Antonio and Graham would have broken up around 2011-2012, meaning Antonio would only have been having the dreams for 3-4 years at the time of his statement. I know it’s Jonathan reading all these but like others have said he gives them such life that it barely sounds like him. Also that sentence seems pretty out of place for the way the rest of the statement was written, imo.

Yep, Blake was definetly dating Graham from episode three. As a matter of fact, it's my headcanon - though I've only listened up to this point in the podcast, and apparently there are over 100 more to go - that he was dating ORIGINAL Graham, not Not!Graham. Graham said he was gay in that episode, if you remember - and plus, this description of those tendrils is just a bit too close to the description of the monster in episode three then I'm comfortable with. Don't know if that's intentional, I'm probably looking too deep and it's just coincidence, but... still.

Vague spoilers While I agree with everyone who says Gertrude's death feels underwhelming compared to how it was described here, I actually think the tendrils were unusual in this one not because her death itself was supposed to be extremely horrible, but simply because she was involved in a lot of dangerous things. Like, the tendrils changed because they reacted to all the supernatural stuff Gertrude messed with, not the means of her death

Antonio had been having these dreams since 2007. Across The Street was given in July, 2007. As other commenters have mentioned, Graham Falkur was quite possibly his boyfriend. I feel like there is a connection between Graham dying or... Whatever happened to the poor guy, and Antonio´s dreams. Im not sure what it could be though. Ive recently started rewatching the podcast after falling out of touch due to personal reasons, and damn am i enjoying the mystery. Anyways, here are my notes/theories about Graham Falkur so far: -Graham Falkur git got by whatever the fuck it was in late 2006, after which Antonio starts having these dreams. -He and Antonio Blake were boyfriends -His table had a pattern of snaking lines engraved into it, going towards the center where a square hole can be found -In November 23, 2006, Ivo Lensik uproots the dead tree at Hilltop Road, Oxford. Under it is a small, ornate wooden box. This is what was missing from Graham´s table, and might have only appeared there soon after Graham´s presumed death I have no idea if these notes are useful to my fellow theorists, but i am writing them here now because reasons. EDIT: In the box was a pristine apple, that quickly decayed after being taken out of it. I was thinking about what this could mean. And here is my new theory: -Graham Falkur was very old, but made a bargain with some sort of entity (Henceforth referred to as "The Benefactor" Because Half Life 2 was fun) for eternal life/youth, with an apple being some sort of arcane signature that solidified the validity of the pact -Graham buries the apple in an ornate box taken from his table, under a tree on Hilltop Road, Oxford -On November 23, 2006, the apple is taken out of the box by Ivo Lensik -This means the pact had in some way been broken, and Graham knows this in some way, explaining his suspicious behaviour in Across The Street. He knew The Benefactor was coming, and it came, and took its payment -Graham´s death/The coming of The Benefactor somehow began Antonio´s nightmare visions in early 2007

*Major ending spoilers* . . . . . . I find it kind of a shame that gertude's death ended up just being a shot gun to the chest. Something so mockingly human compared to the things she could've died from, and what these dreams imply. Here, with the swarming tendrils, it acts as if the eye itself would devour her, but instead, she was killed by Jonah with a damn shot gun. All the other avatars couldn't kill her and a god damn shot gun gets her?? It just... feels underwhelming. Her death was such a big mystery.

Spoilers I wonder if the reason why Gertrude's death was so much worse in this than others was because of Elias directly involving the Powers in the fight. Either that or just the death of an avatar in general being a messy affair on a spiritual level? Also is canary warf where he climbs out of the ocean post death or is that somewhere else? Was there a reason he always started there?

So, by this point in the series, it is basically confirmed that there is going to be an overarching storyline, and I have a theory, two theories actually the first is that I'm fairly certain that the previous archivist wasn't disorganised, but wanted Jon Simmons to read these statements in this order for some reason. My second theory, the more interesting one in my opinion, is that each monster that has shown up are all controlled by some bigger thing, my reasoning is that some of the monsters we've encountered so far seem very similar to each other, with key differences that make it clear they aren't the same thing, and others appear to be completely unrelated. What I'm getting at with this is that maybe there are things that control them, kind of like deities, and they each do different things. If anybody is reading this let me know if I'm on to anything.

Spoilers I like the idea that Oliver/The End perhaps saw Gertrude's death as the catalyst for the upcoming apocalypse. Idk how much I believe that, though. To me, it would mean that The End possesses somewhat predictive properties, but nothing solid as to the how and why. It brings up the whole was Jon really destined, or was it merely a timing thing? Either way, what is more fascinating to me is that we were basically told of the end of s4 (/s5) by episode 11. What frustrates me, however, is how preventable all this could have been. Something something preserving their world, something something thinking of the present. I feel like I'm preaching to the choir, but surely there must have been more than one half decent avatar who didn't this and knew better? I think that's why I keep coming back, aside from the fact that I hope to finish relistening before whatever happens on the 30., everything one way or another would have ended the way it did in 160 and/or 200, be it with the same people or not, and that hurts.
