if any of you guys are listening for the first time, YES this has an overarching story with reoccurring characters. it doesn't initially seem like it, but it very much is. and jon isn't narrating the whole time either, you will hear other voices eventually. this podcast is a great slowburn with a carefully plotted story, it's really astounding how well they planned it out. its a big investment to get into but very worth it!

Remember when this was the scariest thing ever? When you first listen to this episode? Things were so much more simple then. No pain. No sadness. Just the Anglerfish, no context. Gosh this podcast broke me. Update: I just reached 200 and.. well I guess I deserved that after writing this comment.

I kept seeing this tag on Tumblr, idk what this is but I like fictional podcasts. So far, I'm enjoying this.

@@ZeroOhClock spoilers!! . . . . . . . The vampires are creatures/monsters of the hunt, they also appear when that Amazon explorer was lost in the jungle. The anglerfish is a monster of the stranger, it lures people in with the body of previous creatures, skinning them and storing their skinless bodies for the Stranger's ritual. The skinned bodies are sent to the Hunting Trophy room place to be stuffed and turned into servants of the stranger.

Just discovered this and am excited to keep listening but OH MY GOD! I live in Edinburgh, along dalkeith road, and now I have the heebiest of jeebies. Horror podcast indeed.

Starting my 3rd go of the series cuz protocol is only on episode 10 and i need my fix. Only now do i hear the repetition of "The Stranger"... the top tier writing is just as appreciated the 3rd time round as it was the first. Hats off, bravo!

I knew a bit about the characters going in but nothing about the lore and there's really no feeling quite as satasfying and addictive as going back and finding where I know the name Sarah Baldwin from.

I won't spoil anything but like, prepare for much feels, this is a damn good podcast which has broken my heart many many times and completely changed my life despite just being a horror podcast or whatever, and I don't even /like/ horror lmao Edit: And you should probably avoid the comment section, there's a lot of spoilers lol

Starting back through these for the first time since doing the whole series, and hearing that little bit of audio distortion on "Can I have a cigarette?" is just... sent the smallest of chills down my spine.

I MISS SEASON ONE SO MUCH

This is my first time listening to this podcast and HOLY HELL this is so good, when mr watts described the figure not moving its lips, i knew that it was just a dummy, bait for the real monster lurking behind to use. This is so bloody good and i am going to listen to it all!!!

First time here. I've heard of this podcast, but only decided to check it out after hearing Jonathan Sims in "Slay the Princess". Let's go!

I decided to come back and listen to this whole thing again and wow. Coming back to the first episode, where things were so much simpler, really brings me back. I expected a lot of spooky tales told by a serious but skeptical narrator, I could never have expected what we actually got. So excited to go back through this masterpiece again knowing what I do now!

Third listening let's gooo Nothing really scratches the itch I have for media as much as TMA

I came here for all of the creative artists talking about it, it's very promising but I lost my mind when I heard "Johnathan Sims" I 200% was convinced he said "Jonathan Sins"

I just got caught up, so anyone here for the first time: oh boy are you in for a wild ride.

I'm starting the journey! Cade, on the off chance you see this, you've convinced me!

I finished ep 200 about an hour ago. I MUST listen again, from the beginning, because the clues throughout comprise some of the best world-building and plot-weaving I have EVER seen. If I had to guess, I'd say Jonathan Sims (the author, not the character) just might belong the Web.

I finished ep 160 just two days ago and I already can't wait for april... So let's go, it's time for round two! This series has incredible replayability ^^

Here because Quarantine Life got me into horror podcasts, and as I was exploring the Night Vale Fandom I stumbled upon this. Not disappointed!

SAAAME, Cecil and Jonathan could totally be friends, I mean, they both deal with really weird stuff

as someone who has revisited this series numerous times, it is for me a brilliantly written podcast and definitely worth the listen.

There's so many of these kinds if things on the internet nowadays, its difficult to nail the subtleties in writing, acting, world buidling and atmosphere and this is so good. Just feeling like you're getting a peek into a real world is so great

Alas... it's over... episode 200 broke me. I'm re-watching this for the nostalgia.

Ah yes, episode 1. Back when I listened to a few episodes a night to fall asleep to. Before I obsessively listened to the entire 5 season in more or less one go and I was left a mess, craving for more. Since there is not yet more - or rather the rest - I have resorted to fanfictions and starting from the beginning. Maybe this time I won't miss so many details since my memory is absolute shit

I came here because the episode "We all ignore the pit" became viral on TikTok, decided to listen to the podcast from the very beginning because goddammit, stories like this are my jam!

Coming back here after finishing season 5 is... Interesting. Jon being mean is just a little funnier, and, depending on who he's being mean to, hurts just a little bit more.
