    Fun fact, Markhor populations have increased the most over the past 30 years not within completely protected national parks, but in legal hunter managed areas. Since international hunters are willing to pay $200,000 USD + for a mature male, locals have made huge efforts to preserve herd numbers, and restore them to a huge amount of their historic range. Long way to go still, but it would be amazing if this continues.

    Fantastic very knowledgeable Markhor ki hifazat lazmi hai baqi parindy tu wesi he wildlife Dept ki waja se khtam hogaye hai q k wo sirf licence ki leyai hai jin se oun ka khud ka paida hai baqi pir agar koye breeding season mai shekar q na karai wildlife ko koye masla nahe bs sirf licence bana chaheyai jin se watcher k commission or promission ho swat wildlife ka tu yahe haal hai swat mai hr nasal ke paridy tabh hogaye hai

    Now pakistani army and Govt allow to hunt them only for 2 lakh us dollar. Do you know why? Only for betterment and development of respective location. Shame on u you Pakistan govt and army. Hope this creature will survive.

    Lol... Please do some research... Because of this trophy huntic markhor population is increasing, because local community are protecting markhor for money.. 80% of hunting money goes to local communities who are protecting markhor, only 4 markhor you can kill in year... And the only markhor you can hunt which are between 10 to 13 years, because they are on there last stages. So please do some research before distributing shame.

    Used to be national animal. But now its for sale for Americans or anyone for 60 million to hunt. Pakistan's pride and national sign is dead. Wake up.

    There population actually grew due to the trophy hunting money. Secondly only old Markhors are allowed to be hunted down by Pakistani government. Get your facts first before commenting nonsense

    @@OYT95 In 1940, Congress passed a law to protect national symbol, the Bald Eagle. This act, called the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, made it illegal to possess, sell, hunt, or even offer to sell, hunt or possess bald eagles. Show your double standards elsewhere.
