I loved this. They seem like such a great company. Glad to see this off the back of the MA-37 review.

Really enjoyed this tour. Dusty and David are personal friends of mine and while I still lived in Studio City I was a consultant to them on a number of activities for their company...you will find voiceover samples of several of these wonderful mics on their site with yours truly as the voice. I have been sponsored artist for them for over a decade...and BTW...I enjoy your channel very much and your presentation skills are top notch........keep up the good work young man!
David's voice is not what I expected to hear LOL but it's definitely iconic! Sounds like a classic reporter or commentator
Amazing specialists in the art of music; thank you Sir Warren!
Mojave is under the same umbrella as Royer right? (EDIT! Stupid question, I just realized that the man himself is sitting there!) Seems like a great company, designed and made by great people. Thanks for video Warren&Crew!

Hey Warren. I have a Mojave 301 FET and it’s stunning. I use it on the kick mainly but it’s also delicious on vocals. It’s good great “fizz” on the top end and a proper sweetness to the low end. That’s the only way I can describe it really. Thanks for the vid!!!

Mojave is THE BEST. Don't question it, just use their mics and sound amazing. The MA1000 is a very special microphone. It's got the class of a Telefunken 251, midrange of a 47, and a gorgeous silky top end like a Sony C800. It's so so so good.
Royer tested his ribbon mics in my studio in the late 90's. R.A. D. SOUND studio, Fullerton CA.

You can do it! We just had a PLAP Academy Live session about DIY gear. Manny and a few other members make their own mics.
Can't afford one of the big boys right now (entered the giveaway of course!) , but they're definitely on my radar now. Really looking forward to their take on the SM7... Love this kind of companies : small, dedicated engineers, passion for the product ! Great video.

Love seeing where and who the gear comes from. Especially mics. Royer doesn't like dynamics - only ribbons and condensers. Heil doesn't like condensers - for the same reasons I often avoid them - they hear everything, lol. I don't know Royer's background in recording music, but sometimes, the mic that isn't hearing everything,.. is the perfect choice. Lots of lead vocals over years done on lowly 57's. Love his ribbons on cabs coupled with a 57. Cheers.

Their tube mics sound smooth and polished. Gotta get me one.
I was advised a couple times over the years to try the Mojave MA-200. I just passed it off as another promises everything and delivers on nothing microphone. I finally bought one a couple of years ago. Boy was I wrong! This has turned out to be one of the best microphones for my voice I have every used! I also have been saying exactly the same thing about the TLM103.
I'd really like a dedicated U47 multi pattern style mic to come from Mojave at a similar price point to the MA300.

The locking mech. for the shock mounts sucks the handle always binds when i change positions, a thumb screw would be better or short handle ...sounds great !
Is David Royer still with Royer labs or did he sell that and his designs on? I've looked on both websites but its unclear if David Royer is still in both companies which seems at odds with business sense or if he sold his name and Royer labs and then went back to Mojave ? Is anyone able to enlighten me
Nice idea. More like a warehouse check than an actual factory tour though. Great mics, certainly in my GAS list.

So... the Mic Man himself doesn't get his own Lavalier/lapel mic? Odd! 😉😉😂😂 Nice to see him talk, though. Seriously, nice tour of a company with some very nice mics. Too bad no actual manufacturing facilities were shown, makes one wonder of some of the mics are just assembled there and sourced elsewhere or offshore? The Neumann trashing and the "we WIN lots of shootouts" and "costs half/sounds twice as good" salesman style pitching was very uncool, though: the true greats respect their even greater elders (especially if you're basically cloning them!), plus how good a mic sounds is for the users and history to decide, each brand's spokesperson will say theirs sounds like pure gold or god whispering in your ear, yet... 🤷🏼♂️

@@Producelikeapro Not at all annoyed, watched it all and enjoyed the video, was amused by this detail because it's odd and/or ironic isn't it? Thought it was obvious, no need to get irritated. 🤷🏼♂️ Have a lot of respect for David Royer, BTW, his talent and technical dedication are very evident in all he's done, and in his words in this video, too, so for some of us it's kinda precious to hear him speak.
Honestly I could just listen to David Royer all day, im not sure what these other clowns are babbling about buy david royer is the only smart person there 😛
