I REALLY enjoyed listening to this intelligent woman! One reason for climate change is the natural internal "clock" of the Earth, but another reason is MANY DECADES of Weather Modification which has been moving forward quickly with technology (like everything else). I agree with the fact that Weather Modification should NEVER have been done, because playing God is TEMPTING our Lord, and I call it BLASPHEMY... That said, this woman had some VERY important things for us to consider from a different perspective. Thank you SO MUCH for this video💞

Education and cooperation are the key. This is more vital today than it has ever been in the history of our world! If WE do not use OUR resources and education to find solutions to these global problems, rather, global emergencies, then China, and those who would see our world like China, WILL.

Good to see your achievements and sense of humanity and possible solutions. I am getting my husband to listen next. Hear and act, I'll tell him. We have noticed how much older people tend to be before having children in Australia. We need to do away with greediness, help one another. Engage in spirituality and service. Help feed and support the poorer people and educate all so they become self sufficient post initial assistance and training. Thank you.

Moyo's presentation was such an eye opener for the highest ranking countries in the world, which she perfectly laid out in her talk. The world leaders both developed and under developed countries should engage with this emergency trend facing the world. As a believer in the Lord, we should pray earnestly for solutions, when these global leaders engage in such trend. The Lord gave each of us talent to be used to develop His kingdom. He has shown and given us in different ways, and we need more, as we face such challenges in this world.

The lecture was good in that it highlighted major issues that confront the world today. However, probably due to time constraints, she didn't provide the solutions she had promised at the beginning of the lecture. For instance, she didn't say anything about education as promised... I hope she can revisit the same and share a few ideas. Additionally, I think some of her premises and assumptions require a deeper look than she touched on, in this brief presentation. For instance in reference to China especially and its place as a huge debt disperser. What was not articulated is that China itself has a debt to GDP ratio that is higher than the US and other major economies (in fact one of the largest world) and what that means in terms of its economic sustainability. The implication is that the debt problem is much larger and China itself is a victim as well as a culprit in this global quagmire... The list is long, but I think a Q&A session would have helped clarify issues and addressed some of the information gaps generated by this great presentation.

Also, you have got to produce for countries to grow economically. The way this is done is by harnessing the resources of the earth. Agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and technology. Of course we need to use these resources wisely. Stop using so much plastic on everything. New energy technology needs to be a top priority.

So birth certificates were not given to black people in Zambia until 1973, does that mean that the premise regarding the fact 50% of the population is under the age of 15 could very well be incorrect? In order for that statistic to be accurate, it would have to mean that once the law changed, every Zambian previously denied one, went out and got a birth certificate? I'm hearing these statistics being quoted in Newspaper articles about other countries like Haiti as well, relative to why Haiti covid death numbers are so low, they're saying it's largely due to their young population, but many older Haitians don't have birth certificates, and you have to wonder how they arrive at those numbers, and if this concern of mine should be taken into consideration, that would be a very interesting article to read.

Completely wrong on her argument about population. She needs to update her outlook from what she heard in college from her liberal professors. The world population is declining. China has admitted their population will decline by 50% by 2100! That's half as many people in 80 years! She needs to rethink her old arguments. A simple Google search of declining populations will bring up multiple new articles.

What data are you reading? World population is headingfrom 7 to 8 Billion in 2021. Is that a reduction? If you see spesifically on particular countries such as Japan then yes you find the downward trend, but keep in mind that Japan is not the only countries on earth, there are over than 190 countries that must be taken into consideration and calculation.

The speech was very disappointing. I kept waiting for a mention of the ultimate source of solutions, the gospel of Jesus Christ and loving and teaching eternal principles. Instead, there were no solutions offered directly. The only solutions inferred were government solutions, or public policy. Extremely disappointing to see this as a BYU speech. I expect to see this type of speech on TEDTalks.

Hello, thank you for watching our channel. BYU strives to invite a mixture of forum speakers, often not of our faith, and devotional speakers throughout the year in order to meet all of their educational aims. "A BYU education should be (1) spiritually strengthening, (2) intellectually enlarging, and (3) character building, leading to (4) lifelong learning and service" (byu.edu). It is not expected that the forum speakers tie their remarks into the gospel. Rather, we learn from the different perspectives and experiences that they bring to BYU. -Emma

I love both the devotional and the forums and I am grateful for the distinct differences of both ways of learning. The time each speaker has is so short that it serves as a dip into the topic for us to continue to learn and engage our agency in both secular a d spiritual persists to create change for the better in our circumstances and perspectives as individuals and citizens in our local and global communities.
