@@jack0511M he did really well initially but then the lack of experience probably crept in after some time in the job and things started going wrong. Even with experienced managers sometimes they have a couple of off seasons before pulling things around again. Sometimes club's just need to stick with their manager a lot longer and give them a decent amount of time, and understand sometimes you have ups and downs. So much money involved these days though, and fan's have zero patience too. At my club I hope the owners and fans give Howe a good crack of it. Let him build a side over several seasons. if you have seasons of stagnation sometimes it's not all bad. I think Bobby Robson finished 13th, 11th and 11th building the base, until the summer of 2001 and added some of the final pieces and we took off finishing 4th and 3rd getting champions league.
Carlos Edwards was scoring form 25 yards out, you think that was down to me. Absolutely refreshing to hear from a manager.

Ten Hag isn't fit to clean Roy Keane's boots.
I was at the Burnley game, when at 2-2 I was talking to my partner on the phone in Middlesbrough, when Carlos Edwards scored that thunderbolt and the whole stadium just erupted, 44,000 screaming Sunderland fans and my partner was complaining about the noise and asked what just happened. I managed to tell her that Carlos Edwards had just scored before losing my voice totally. I got home about 1am after the game and was back at work at 5am with no voice and everybody at work was taking the piss out of me, but I didn't care I was so happy that we were promoted. What Roy Keane achieved that season was truly amazing and I'll never forget that season or that Burnley game.
Roy deserves a chance at a big club. Some people are afraid off him because he’s a winner???They are growing ass men.
I love this man! Started supporting safc the year before where we finished bottom of the premier league on 15 points when I was 9 years old back in 05-06. That championship season under Roy Keane was the beginning of my true obsession with football and safc. I'm from Cobh in Cork, now I currently live in London. Roy Keane was one of the biggest influences in my life growing up, I am now 30 years old. Just watched the whole video and honestly it is so encouraging for our people to see an Irishman succeed as well as he did! We are a population of less than 5 million so there is not a huge roster of people that can become global superstars but this man paved the way for us to be proud of where we came from. You're a fookin legend Roy, the Ramblers will always back you- my grandad was Jim Burke of Cobh Ramblers if you remember him when you played, he sold you to Nottingham Forest! You have done us all proud Keano, forever a hero to all and hopefully one day we can meet up for that tea and sandwich haha! I am an Arsenal fan so you probably won't give a fook ya legend ya!!! Gotta disagree a little with Roy. I love that he's humble and wants to give all the credit to the boys and their hard work... but he deserves a slice for identifying a good mix of additions to the side, adding good depths of talent, work ethic, leadership, and experience, as well as making good choices in whom to let go of and move on. He assembled an excellent side, and what they achieved together is something that will never be forgotten.
He would make a great manager. He worked under the best, Brian clough
Roy Keane is old school!! turned up rolled up his sleeves and got stuck in!!!full stop... modern day player I'm afraid is soft ,soft soft!!!! Give me old school any day... i miss them days...
Would be unreal if he went back to United as a manager
Unforgettable memories Keano transformed the place top man.
Roy Keane needs to build a team of coaches, scouts & etc, have a team/project & go abroad. He's too stuck in the EPL bubble, if he tries somewhere in Eastern Europe, Bundesliga, France... he'd develop more as a manager. He's tough but in EPL, too many divas & less hunger... if he goes to a underdeveloped league/nation in terms of finances, finds raw talent, with coaches & himself as manager he'd do something beautiful.

Wonder where we'd be if he hadn't had left 🤔. Loved that season Keono first came in and the 2-1 win against the mags was class. A true legend not just at Man U but Sunderland aswell.
2006/2007 one of the most memorable seasons I can recall. We came from nowhere to build an unbelievable momentum that took us to the Premier League. Keane was outstanding that season. We were in a poor state when to took over and he transformed the place. The signings of Edwards, Simpson and Jonny Evans were down to Keane and they made the difference in the second half of the season.
Even as a Newcastle fan I must say Keane done a brilliant job with them and he deserved more opportunities in management, I think he'd do a good job for them even now

I love Roy Keane. I always said I think Cantona knew the writing was on the wall when Keane started to impose his authority on the team. I never thought we’d replace Bryan Robson or the likes of King Eric but having Keane in the team was like having 12 players not 11. He was everywhere & was Fergie on the pitch. Seems like he’s mellowed over the years. Funny and intelligent with values. Hope he gets another chance as manager one day soon.
Roy isn't an angry guy. He is just passionate 😆 True winner. Even when he looses. Gives everything and the players respected that and gave everything back. That's the true key. Respect. Not the kind you see where people say they respect you but give nothing. People thought the hairdryer treatment was bad. Keano does karate kicks 😆😆😆

Bare in mind we'd been relegated twice in recent years, both with record-low points tallies. The club had no manager, uncertain investment and a squad in dire need of a lift. In walked Keane and within a few months, results had improved and the mood in the city and the club was completely lifted. He underplays his role in it, I think. The players were the ones on the pitch but it was Keane that was the puppet master pulling the strings, inspiring them every match, From bottom to top in 37 matches. Then he kept us from being relegated and we were signing some quality players, establishing ourselves and really looking to challenge. Of course the board and players helped, but Keane was the catalyst. The two and a half years he was here were a great time to be a Sunderland fan. Lets hope under Alex Neil they are just round the corner again.
Such an admirable person. I always love his take on everything.
