I actually had the pleasure of driving this exact model year back when I worked at a dealership. It's actually one of the most underrated luxury cars I've ever gotten behind the wheel of. My only complaints were A) The push button automatic trans, and B) as the guy said, those silly touch sensitive controls... I wound up embarrassing myself on a test drive with a customer trying to show them off... Accidentally brushed against the volume after adjusting the fan speed and practically deafened the both of us. Beyond that it's an absolutely wonderful drive if you're looking for commuter/comfort/road trip cars.

E Zamora look for a Certified Pre Owned 2015-2019 MKC. If you stick to the “lower” trim model called the “Premiere” you can get a great value. I got my 2017 MKC last December with 10k miles for $21,000. It was $34,000 brand new. So far I haven’t had one single issue and i’ve been driving it a lot due to work. It’s the perfect amount of “luxurious” for me. It’s nice and comfy without being too much. Overall very happy with the car. And my fiance loves it too.

@@schwenda3727 1997 MK8 here. Air suspension did fail at 110000. Due to lack of funds & research time had a conventional suspension put in. Major problem are the lights, specifically the rear light bar/brake light & head lights never were supported by Sylvania or Ford. The head lights must be also converted if you can't find a match replacement. That rear light bar has no known fasr repair & is usually left broken on 97s & 98s Mark 8s. Sad because it was beautiful when it worked. Engine & transmission are strong. Just some of the interior electronics can be hard to nail down. Air bag light has been on for many years but Ford claims not to carry the sensor to repair. In short, no the last generation Marks are Not Daily Drivers! But they are beautiful weekend toys that can be fun IF you don't mind the following: 1. Working on them yourself 2. Ford pretending they never made the car & giving you zero support. Basturds.

Thank you Yad and Scotty, a few years ago I noticed an MKZ in my neighborhood, it's exhaust note caught my attention. Since I drive a 4.6 L Grand Marquis, and love it's comfort and power on long road trips, I wondered how a smaller Lincoln would compare. BTW, my Grand Marquis is about 15 years old now, is currently running an average of 24 - 26 mpg over the mountains in Colorado and flat-out West Texas terrain at 75-80 mph. It is currently at ~89,000 miles on the odometer. Best used car I ever paid cash for. I'll be considering a used MKZ if something ever happens to my car.

Now they discontinued it with the regular Fusions, what a sleeper. I’m sure @Scotty Kilmer will think it’s a POS but that’s okay. 🙂

For comfort I would take a used Lincoln over a used BMW or Mercedes-Benz any day. It’s just cheaper to own a Lincoln. maintenance is cheaper, parts are cheaper and they don’t require any special procedures or resets for simple repairs like a 12v battery replacement. Some European products require a trip to the dealer which can cost hundreds of dollars to replace the battery, but you go anywhere and buy a battery for a Lincoln. (I’m not referring to the lithium hybrid units but 12v cranking..) Some cars I’d buy new, others I’d buy used..

It had 110K miles on it and the fix would have cost me $2400. I'm avoiding ford and lincoln based on that experience.

A friend of mine purchased a Black Lincoln MKZ hybrid with the black wheels that came off a lease at a Lincoln dealer. I think he paid about $18-19k with about 35k miles on it. It's a good riding car with some nice bells and whistles and decent gas mileage. I didn't even know Lincoln sold a MKZ hybrid until my friend purchased his. I think he was researching hybrids and took one of these for test drive. The car he had prior was an older BMW wagon because he has a family but he got rid of it as it had like 130k miles and was costing him thousands in maintenance just like Scotty has warned. I hope Lincoln keeps making the MKZ as the Ford Fusion is slated to stop production this year.
