So apparently there’s been a couple mixups and confusion regarding a couple things, which is understandable, so figured I’d clear up a couple things. - All the runners took on our runs at the same time, not one after the other. We all went our separate ways and did our own runs at roughly the same time and made our own strats at roughly the same time. Some people are faster at making videos than others, so it may seem like everything is desynced but trust me, we all ran it at the same time. - The video is written from SOLELY the perspective of my run. Because #1 it would be a jackass move to spoil other people’s videos, and #2 it would ruin the entire point of the finale of the whole competition. - There’s a reason that I frame things with a sense of Ambiguity when I say things like “world first” because again, we don’t want to spoil the final project. We’ll all see what happens when it all comes to a close 😁 Hope that helps with some of the confusion on things

Btw pyromancy scales with humanity, maybe you could've increased your chances on Manus with all that + 10 humanity and use Chaos Storm instead for lava pools?

@@KippClimbs Keep in mind you are between 4K trying to cast solidly slow spell even on dex cap, and all of them are ought to attack you with their long swords.

Once again, it's so interesting to see where every contestant approach differs. Sure late game there's not that much variation but I've seen quite a bit of variety in how everyone started the run so far. And of course... the 4 kings one-shot. That's one hell of a milestone in and of itself. Not to mention that not only is it that anyone at all managed to figure a way to do it, but that multiple people discovered this independent of each other over a decade after the game's release. That's a thing of beauty

Me too. I honestly thought it would be out by now, but I guess it's taking longer than I thought it would. I'm not any good at video editing anyway, plus I have no idea how many runs he has to go through, so I can't even tell when he will be ready. All I know is that I can't wait until he releases it.

About the blood stain you where curious about: when you enter the boss room, the game loads a separate map underneath the room you actually stepped in, this is room copy’s the data from the room above and extends the room out quite long, you picked up your bloodstain in the boss room but not the actual boss room meaning your actual blood stain was in the actual boss room still, sorry if that was confusing but tldr game tricks you into thinking your somewhere else and then gets confused about your bloodstain data

It may only seem like a single video, but man, this is a culmination of one wild summer. Weeks of planning, the run proper up to THE BOIS, and then the editing grind. It feels like a great final chapter to it all. It was great to be there, and I can't wait for The Low Level One Shot (Dark Souls 2: SotFS) Challenge. Or DS3, whichever comes first.

Since pinwheel is such a pushover and in comparison Quelag is very difficult, wouldnt she be more like 80 of him😂 Or 77.5 since shes 2.5 pinsheels hp.

I can't get enough of these videos, I hope there are other runners! It's absolutely amazing how nobody was able to one shot the Four Kings for 12 years, and now two people did it with the same technique, without consulting each other. Truly an achievement, congrats.

This was an excellent run! However, I did watch another player on shot Manus. You are 100% correct. It was all about luck. You had the exact way too. One shot him down. You just had to wait for him to jump backwards to get the damage boost. Excellent work!

Uffs are additive in ds not multiplicative

The arena where you fight Gwyndolin is a duplicate. The game does transfert the bloodstain from the long hallway when you defeat Gwydolin.

SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T WATCHED THE VIDEO: Congrats on finishing the run, especially possibly being one of the first to one button the Four Kings! I'm very much a noob when it comes to Souls games so it was amazing to see this kind of challenge run! And to think you did it while accidentally forgetting to use a few level up points, not sure if they would've changed the Manus fight but I agree that if the fight was too luck based to be possible it wasn't worth it if you weren't having fun after over 300 attempts. Great video and I can't wait for your next one! :)

24:53 I just rewatched and the second bloodstain recovery didn't add any souls. He had 0 souls, picked up his 265k souls, tried to one-shot Gwyndolin and failed. He reset and killed Gwyndolin. For that he got and 40k souls. He then picked up the second bloodstain while it was still counting the 40k souls. Total: 305k souls.

I think the random blood stain was a blood stain from another player's world. I think they said if you fail to retrieve your blood stain, it will go to another player's world and they can pick it up.
