The director made the movie so creepy without actually showing anything graphic except the bathtub and before susie's death.

I don't believe she died she did escape but was pulled into the afterlife and trapped there it doesn't make sense but that's movie magic for you.

Nathaniel Bobo she did die, she thought she kicked him and escaped but she he raped and killed her in reality.

It's a master piece none the less but there will be haters and people who talk shit about it. Comparing this to otherworldly beliefs in Heaven though Heaven is described differently in each myth & legend about it. It's the afterlife the otherworld or the spirit realm. There's theories that we don't really die we just move onto the next realm which is the spirit realm or known as the possible HEAVEN like The Lovely Bones which there version is the In Between look at celtic folklore there's also the Celtic Otherworld which perfectly describes The Lovely Bones.

One thing i like ally this move is they made it VERY authentic for the time. Everything looks exactly like in pictures I’ve seen from that time period.

It is really incredible how complicated a two hour movie can be to make. The number of people involved is mind blowing.

Love this movie. Never get bored of watching it and always learn something about life, death and etc.

I love this movie i watched it so many times i bought the cd and i got it with me all the time im addicted to it i get mad every time i see the ending why couldn't nobody find her body because that man buried it im so sad i should stop talking about it :)

Ms. Ronan won my heart with this cerebral bit of acting. I cannot stand mark walberg or Susan Sarandon, but the overall continuity of this movie more than makes up for them. Peter Jackson, excellent adaptation from book to film.

Anyone who hates this movie doesn't get the message according to the message to future kids to be self aware of the individual. The real thing was apparently the person who made the story was raped and had the need to spread a message to prevent this. In this case if you're caught being a pedophile you should be executed on the spot. There is no place in this world for a pedophile.

This movie has sooo much similarities to real life I am glad the actress died growing up. YES They do have people that sense the dead I wanna manifest and say I am one of them I can't see but I know they are there. I wish I could tell these people how almost right they are. I meditate with healing crystals and metaphysics right now I have amethyst for my upper root chakras and black obsidian quartz. Yes there are similar things with this and different versions to what happen when you die I don't even think death is real at this point that the spirit leaves the vessel.
