The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock

Ойын-сауық

Short film interpretation of the poem by T.S. Eliot. This poem means the world to me; I am not sure that I have ever resonated with a piece of art like I have with this piece. And the older I get, the more poignant it becomes. This is my first film, and the film I have been wanting to make all my life.
Thank you for watching, and I hope my interpretation inspires and strikes a chord within you. It is not the only interpretation, nor do I claim it to be yours or even Eliot's. But it is exactly what is inside myself, and I hope it means to you just a little bit of what it means to me.
For those of you who know me, this may be deeper than you are used to. I believe the deep and the dark serve to bring the light into focus.
Sincerely,
Karl

imagine on a brisk wintry night you sat behind your screen with the lights of the room out and clicked this masterpiece, then it starts, when you bend over on the table and feeling disconnected.

Beautiful. Very well executed. It captures the weighted honesty of longing for transcendence.

It was magical, your reading! A great voice among all the great voices that I have ever heard. And what inflection and animated, yet subdued, articulations. Really need to know if you have "acted out" other great poetry?

There are times when an interpretation of an iconic, resonating poem is in itself a resonating, artistic expression. This is one of those times.

+Karl Verkade You're welcome, Karl. Some interpretations take this poem too literally, rather than symbolically or psychologically.
