As a non-native speaker of the English language, I am afraid I have no other way to better express my feelings towards this video than saying it is fucking amazing and that Cristopher Lee rocks.
What an amazing combination, 2 geniuses Edgar Allan Poe and Christopher Lee
True legends never die. Sir Christopher Lee will live forever as a man who gave life to countless characters, but most important as a great man himself. One (if not THE) greatest men in cinema history.
This is my favorite recitation of "The Raven" of all those found on this site and others. It just sounds right with a British accent, especially when recited by the great Christopher Lee.
Kudos to whomever edited this masterpiece. Glory to the poet, the reader, and the composer.
Sir Christopher reads this with such amazing diction, it sends chills down my spine
The most eldritch and potent reading of the poem. Wonderful.
Beautifully read, he was , and will remain, a legend.

Great Voice, great actor and great man reading a great poem. R.I.P. Sir Christopher Lee
Great poem but wow what a reading. Chris lee, what a voice! I feel it really added tot the story as a whole; exactly what a narrator should do. Very impressed all round.
This is the best performance in YT by far...
Rest in Peace, Sir Christopher Lee. The world has lost a legend.
This is still the heaviest poem on this planet 🤘🏻 Love it
I want to learn this poem though I know I will never be able to tell it with as much spine chilling feeling as the legend that is Christopher Lee!
I share this with Christopher as I also love the poem called The Raven, he speaks with passion and understanding.
Two great men who were greater than their time, the likes of which we will never see again. Edgar Allan Poe and Sir Christopher Lee, we were unworthy and you still graced us with your short time on this earth.
absolutely breath-taking ! He is the real master of this poem.
... It just left me speechless. His interpretation really puts you into the story. You feel like you're actually living it!
WOW! From Christropher Lee to the music. It all fit just right!!
This poem always made me laugh. At its most basic, it's about a guy trying to get a raven out of his bedroom. That's part of the reason I always loved Poe :)

ihear2paceverywhere Well... At it's basic shallow meaning, he is right. But to us that actually enjoy the writing of Poe, it has a deeper meaning and is truly a workof art.

ihear2paceverywhere No he is not joking. Instead he made a very humorous point.
R.I.P. you legend! Unfortunately we will see you nevermore. I bet you had a very interesting life...

Alexey poe was as miserable as a man can be , a horrible life of misfortune and bad luck, he was finally put out of his misery by a bite from a rabid dog , he was found dead in a gutter .

Actually I was referring to Christofer Lee. The comment was written a few days after he passed away.
classy ..real classy.....love it!!!
Happy birthday, Mr. Poe. 207 years: 19 january 1809-19 january 2016 "That the play is the tragedy, "Man", And its hero the Conqueror Worm"
Magnificent reading: somber and resonant, and vividly recreating the wild darkness and all powerful psychic forces of Poe's great and singular poem.
Amazing video and amazing preformence by Sir Christopher Lee!
My ever growing love for the moving poems of Edgar..Allen..Poe. but this one in itself has made me rethink the thought of all that will remain nevermore. The sorrow for my lost Lenore is as real to me as the feeling of the Lenore for Poe. I have a stilled beating heart that's has been taken away with all that is nevermore.
Memorized since I was 10 years old. Love EAP.
The Raven is a classic short tale of horror from Poe, also combined with the deep, narrating voice of Christopher Lee?! So epic. I should download this to my iPhone. :3

MiyuChan It's not an horror tale (I wouldn't say it's "horror" even if it was a tale), it's a poem that best depicts Poe's addition to the romanticist movement. The bird comes from his own interior, it's his soul. The answer to if he will ever see his loved Leonor again doesn't come from reason but from himself. And the answer is a nihilistic and terrible "nevermore".

Rainbow Stalin Interesting, even if it comes from "his soul" and not from reason, I would say it comes from the tormented soul of a rational man, who tries to convince himself otherwise, but understands (in pain) there is no religious relief for our losses in the material world. Things/people are taken aways from us - for evermore. Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn, It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore. (...) Quoth the Raven, “Nevermore.”
Great reading by a great actor.
excellent, mesmerizing! I've been listening/watching for hours. Will I be ever able to stop it?

The BEST SPOKEN OXFORD ENGLISH By Sir Christopher Lee! The Correct & Only Way To Spoken EnglishWhich Possibly Could Only Be Match By His Esteem Colleague & Also Brilliant Actor PETER CUSHING!!
This is a fantastic interpretation.
Duuuude...who would had thought that poetry could be freekin scary!
a voz de Christopher Lee é como o corvo que entra pelos portais desta casa dos devaneios de Poe...não há como ignorar...simplesmente linda...
This poem is even creepier with the pictures and music...O_O
My god his delivery is fantastic.
Absolutely brilliant! Such powerful recitation.
Better than the other version. This video truly made me obsessed with this poem.
Awesome Christopher.
this story all of sudden makes me an High ranked english knight heads up with confidence on his horse galloping over a hill as the sunset and the birds flies away from the howling wolves ....
Perfect music...haunting... Love it!

Terrific performance.

The last stanza is so chilling.
I love his voice ( and this poem)
Goosebumps. 'Nuff said.

I was in Baltimore last week and saw Poe's grave. He is also buried with his beloved wife and MIL.
A great poem, read by an admirable actor with some voice that can guide your soul pretty much, a result we all have to respect. Very well done ,sir . I applaud for the effort submited ^_^
I love this poem with "my burning soul"
awesome.got no words to describe my impressions.Thx for that genious reading from Russia
He was obsessed and afraid of death and nothingness. To me, that makes him a truly honest person.
powerfully read, slow paced but good, as good as vincent price and basil rathbone. {GREAT JOB}
I prefer this over the newer version Christopher did :)
This totally freaked me out. Great job on this :)
Christopher Lee is a legend. His voice, his acting, his presence: amazing. I feel, though, that the music here hinders the enjoyment of the story itself.
my brother came up to me after this in an evil sort of hood with a sword. it scarred the heck out of me
I certainly agree with you my good friend . . In my respectful opinion, Vincent Price recites this great, "powerful" n well written poem amazingly well n so much more effectively than Christopher Lee, yet the two of them perform the task extraordinarily brilliant . . God bless n keep them both :)
Never heard him speak... might look into that. He IS my favorite author.
This poem is the best and the onil one i like.
Insane.
Wow, I've heard The Raven recited by both Boris Karloff and Vincent Price but Christopher Lee is fantastic !
