The Love Bug 1997 Shot for Shot Recreation Race Scene at Saugus Motor Speedway

In May 2023, three Herbie fans received permission to drive a replica Herbie the Love Bug around the
famous Saugus Motor Speedway. This was a filming location from the 1997 Television movie The
Love Bug starring Bruce Campbell and Ali Wentworth where Herbie races at the very beginning.
Enjoy this fan-filmed shot by shot scene recreation edited over 20 years later. It may possibly be the
last race car to ever take a lap around the track. The historic property stopped hosting racing in 1995.
(The Love Bug 1997 was shot prior to the shutdown), is now home to the twice-weekly Santa Clarita
Swap Meet and is rumored to soon become a residential development.
