The Lotus Eater Feat. Retro Keyboard Jam Session | Opeth Reaction

Ойын-сауық

Opeth Reaction. The Lotus Eater Reaction.
I made a minor addition to the visuals in this song. We'll see if you can spot it. ;) And I would just like to say,
I love Opeth.

I can't tell how happy I made you listening to this song (joke) I can't tell how exited I was when I saw this notification. See what I mean? This track combines everything Opeth is good in. They are among other influenced by music of the 70's. I think you're right that this could be their best album. Serenity Painted Death is more of the uncompromising hard stuff (with surprises of course) I can't tell you how excited I am for the combination of the two first songs of the Watershed album. Thanks a lot for this one. I think when you've listened it several times it could be your favourite of Opeth. Cheers 🤘🍺

After your reactions to Burden and The Peel I was already thinking that you might really like the whole Watershed album. When you do Coil and Heir Apparent try to get a seamless version, it's going to be better that way.

Yes, that is a very good advice....but maybe she will spoil them if she try to look for a seamless version (there is a small gap between both songs). That gap, if you listen to the cd (IIRC) when it was released, is there, so i think is intended by the band

Actually all the albums in order is the best lol, but not everyone has the time for that, main reason I'd never start a reaction channel, if it's new to me I like to start from the beginning of discography and listen to everything, including random songs ft. other artists and what not 😂😂

Hi Lauren. Thank you so much for this reaction and continuing on your Opeth journey. I have been a fan since the first album Orchid was released in 1995. They are one of my most favourite bands. I agree with you totally.. You can always rely on this great band to take your mind away from the horrible things happening in our world. You are a true Opethian 👍. I was smiling along with you when the demon entered the song and I will definitely have the image of keyboard guy when I play this track 👍😆. The bands influences are definitely based in a lot of the prog bands from the UK..in the 1970's ...eg Camel, Gentle Giant. Looking forward to your next reaction Lauren. Take care, stay safe. Peace and love from Liverpool UK 👍✌️🤘☮️

Ahhh, Serenity Painted Death is next (interesting choice to say 5he least, I would’ve suggested Moonlapse Vertigo or Godhead’s Lament before SPD when it comes to Still Life, I can tell you there is a brief section in SPD that I’m certain you won’t be into, but it is immediately followed by one of the most beautiful guitar melodies in Opeth’s entire discography. So you have that to look forward to.

To be fair they technically are from the 70’s, most if not all the members were born in that decade lol 😉 I know what you mean though. They have many influences, some which come from musicians that were relevant during the 70’s.

Lauren, do you eat anything else besides animal crackers? 😅 They are delicious, but not very nutritious. Yes, a lot going on! It's like a metal stew. Yep, I'm hungry. That isolated, "die" killed me! Ha, unintended pun! That's a pun, right? So, you like the speed demon. Lol! I loved that guitar right before keyboard guy came in. It was like eavesdropping at the end. I think Opeth is growing on me a bit. Thanks, Lauren! Have a great weekend!

Animal crackers have turned into my official reaction snack! Now that I have a few Opeth tracks to my name, and if you're wanting to get into them--which you should!--I'd check out Hessian Peel (my favorite), Burden, Ghost of Perdition, Deliverance. This band has most definitely grown on me more than I ever thought they would. Fantastic band. :D

You see? After all, you were missing that lovely demon!!!! (The Return of the Demon, awesome name for a horror movie), I am thanking you in advice for the next Opeth songs in your list: Serenity Painted Death (brutal, fast and the best Opeth guitar solo is in that one) and Coil + Heir Apparent (there is a very big surprise there). And, for the future, if you want a very different flavor of demon, you should do any song from Morningrise (except To Bid You Farewell, which you already did, and is the only song of that album with no demon)

Confession first, I am really *not* a fan of reaction videos, but I do find myself enjoying yours (maybe it's just because it's Opeth? I don't know). Anyhow, I do not see a video for The Grand Conjuration in the list of videos, so I would suggest that one for you at some point. Honestly, it's the one that made me love The Demon :-)

@@MusicCatsandCoffee That is on Ghost Reveries, same album as Ghost Of Perdition (so your OG keyboardist, Per 😉 ). Just make sure you get the full length album version (10:21) and not the video version, which is cut all to hell. In surprised The Demon allowed that. After that one, you should check out Harlequin Forest.
