i opened like 20 summer plant packets (2 of which i got from gnomes, the rest i bought) and out of all of them i got 3 lilies. the spawn rate for these things is so ridiculous and not worth the money spent on them, may as well go find them out in the world

Going for a ride helps with fun for both the horse and the sim. It also builds the endurance skill.

Poor Oak forever banned from one fire 😂 I could see auntie Quinn plan a stay over to “help” Lady with the farm but constantly talk up Oak in hopes to patch things up between her kids and their favorite cousin

yeah in real life an automatic pet feeder is electric. It might technically be possible to make one that is clockwork (using springs and cogs and a handle you turn regularly to wind up the spring, the way clocks used to work before we had electricity), but it makes sense that it uses electricity in sims.

I purchased a $1K horse, worked for all gold “competish” awards and maxed all their skills. Currently worth $43K and they’re 4 days from aging to elder so I’m breeding them one last time before retiring them and letting them continue living their best life. I’m loving this LP and learning from you as well! Horse Ranch is easily my favorite of all SIMS4 content.

You shoud breed Flame with Duke, now that you introduced yourself you can just invite him over, wich is kinda random but kinda useful.

Great episode! You could get a patchy to help you with gardening. If you interact enough with patchy, they come to life and help you with the plants! You can also check pocket for seeds for more havestables. I usually get lucky with uncommon plants hehe

I swear that walk thing is true and I just realized it like this week during my own horse ranch game! My ranch fam adopted one of the stray dogs in the game and I was like "wow it's wild this dog never wants a walk this is dope." decided after about two sim weeks to give her a walk for fun and then sure enough the dog now has a leash thought bubble every single day now.

Just me laughing because James said he locked it for all mini animals… but the mini goat found the loophole… it wasn’t locked for horses 😂

Two glitches I’ve noticed: first when a foal nurses on a mare, they will drain their hunger really quickly. Even if they have food nearby, your horse can go from good hunger to starving and be taken immediately. The second thing I noticed is eventually the horses stop playing with the horse ball, even when you ask them to, you have to delete the ball and place a new one to fix it. Loving the play through so far!

I'm on my fourth ball, they constantly refuse to play with it until it is replaced.

They're dappled bays! My qh is dapple bay, depending on the time of year, when his undercoat is shedding. I think its his Appaloosa blood showing thru. Maybe flame has some appy in her bloodlines... ooo they are known for being too smart and thus difficult sometimes. I like this explanation a lot.

After calling a Sim "Plantain" or "Column", nothing name-related shocks me anymore. Bluey and Horse fit in beautifully in this family.

I feel like we need to pull in a cousin as a more permanent ranch hand

I know it’s a bug, but I want horse getting loose to be an intentional sims hidden “feature” because goats are notorious for being tricky lil guys to keep haha.

The horses interjecting themselves into sim's task feels like the problem with sim's freezing. The horse's wants seem to try and override all other sim tasks. On a side note, one of my horses gets Social Bunny alerts, and I can't turn off their SB app because horses can't use phones. 😂

Mellow makes temperament on horses go up much faster but they gain skills much slower on everything else

My kid and I were watching the last episode together and yelling at the screen when you were naming Hugo "BLUEY BIGWALLET WAS RIGHT THERE JAMES!!!" So we're glad for the vindication XD

If you get Bluey's Temperament skill to level 6 before he ages up he will get an extra trait when he ages up to an adult.

Move the peepee bush closer to the sheep/goat area so it's on the other side of the lot from the outhouse. Then it would actually be convenient to use it sometimes

Just so you know horses with the Free Spirit trait like Basil do not like being indoors or even under a roof. So you should probably put a horse bed for him out in the open. That’s what I had to do for mine :/

‼️Gardening glitch fix ‼️ When you travel outside your lot and your plants reset, drag them into your household inventory. When you place them back on your lot, they return to being fully grown. This worked on my save. Hope it helps 😊

The problem with the locks is every time you hit "lock for [blank]" it resets the lock to ONLY the option you chose last.

I didn't notice what season it is but if HarvestFest is coming soon, stock up on gnomes. The more gnomes you have, the more seed packs you will get. Be sure to appease them early and stay home that day. And yes, Lady's first daughter should definitely be named Lily.

My dog's name is Lily and she is very confused by James shouting her name over and over again 😂

I believe if it has all skills and trophies a horse can be worth over 40k, I feel I have heard 100k too, so probably a very decent chunk

With the barn, there are those big open barn doors from the pack in build mode you can use, so the barn is still always open but it counts as inside so it’ll be nice and warm!

Thank you James for all of the consistent content , this series is very entertaining but if I can make a suggestion it would be great if Rhy comes along for the ride especially in his last days , I know he is proud of Lady

You can find lilies at the flower stand in Tartosa! They sell single flowers to plant not just wedding bouquets.

Watching James with this pack was so much fun, I decided to buy it. After establishing a nice ranch I decided my sim should have a baby and get a romantic partner. Got my sim pregnant but her boyfriend died before I could move him in and she had twins. My sim no longer has time to do anything on the ranch (even with a ranch hand and occasional nannies). Some of the animals left and it’s exhausting trying to meet the needs of the 2 infants. LOL.

My sim got a boyfriend with a horse that I moved in and I’m waiting untill I get both horses to win a championship competitions, then I will be breeding the horses at the same time as getting my sim pregnant and THEN my sim and her horses can be mamas together.😂

Been having issues with locks. Have chickens and horses roaming the house. One of the horses got stuck in the bathroom, so had to use cheats to reset him. 😆

For some reason, the locks have been broken since the patch update, at least for me. When you select new ones, they don't add but instead replace the previous one, which I'm prrrrretty sure didn't happen before!

When I had it only locked for goats and sheep mine worked fine. As soon as I added lock for horses it broke. So I did it like James. Lock for all, allow household and ranch hand.

James you should plan an event using the new pack event options for having an animal care party. Then invite all of Lady’s family over to see her ranch and meet her animals!

If I recall correctly, ranch hands will only pick up manure if you specifically ask them to under the "Ranch hand" interactions.

I think your foal get a good trait if you get their temperament to a certain level before they grow up 🤔

Selling your nectar bottles on a selling table is a great way to make money as you can mark up by 300%.

I legit am having a hard time waiting for each new episode! I'm loving this soooooooooo much!

You don't need a bathroom sink, since there is no toilet there. You could even get rid of your shower to make Lady's life harder.

I see the thumb nail said, running out of room on the 50x50 lot.. but I see you have the barrels and jumps on the lot.. and you really could remove them because not far from the lot there are both barrels and jumps.. that would free up more space for you..

Lot taxes, I am of the opinion that taxes on any lot, as we all know in this world does not include your personal property.. but is based upon what we would consider as one would buy in this game, unfurnished.. that is all that the lot taxes should be based upon.. talk with EA and have them fix it.. whatever it would cost to buy the place unfurnished is what the lot taxes should be based upon, I have also seen they also base lot taxes on the amount of money you actually have as well.. and that should not be either..

I found that my horses never had the cooped up pop up because we took daily rides around our neighbourhood. Also great to build the endurance, it’s the only skill I have at level 10 so far :)

Put the bin in the pen where the goat, sheep and chickens are as they’re locked and it does seem the horses poo in there a lot and if you have to clean the chicken coop it’s not too far to go! Plus the gate is locked!
